I have spent the whole morning zoning in and out my thoughts, good thing the lab is basically empty.
The Moon Goddess wouldn't give me another mate like Paris...would she...no it would be a sick joke if she did......right?
I wonder if it's a girl or boy? Mmmmmmm I guess the only way would be to find actually grow some balls and find out instead of hiding in the labs when I finished work 45 minutes ago...
Trent has been bouncing up and down in my head all morning, it's like he forgot about what Paris did.
"No I haven't, I just know the Moon Goddess wouldn't mess us around again and has paired us with someone really nice and calming"
I spent the drive back bouncing my leg up and down in nervousness, to the point I had to pull over and phone a friend
"Hi Payton"
"Oh my god Davis, it's so nice to hear from you"
"I spoke to you like 3 days ago" I said laughing
" I know but, your my favourite, just don't tell anyone" he said whispering
"We heard that" some one shouted over Payton "hey cut it out, I'm talking to my favourite wolf" he said giggling, I heard him moving around then silence, I'm guessing he moved to a different room
"So how can I help you Davis, unless it was to say merry Christmas Eve"
"Ummm well" I took a deep breath "I think I found my mate but I ran away and now I'm hiding" I said quickly
"Oh my.....that's that's amazing Davis, are they pretty? Did you spread to them?"
"What part of I ran away didn't you get" i huffed out
"Oh.......ummm why did you run?" Silence I didn't know what to say, "they aren't going to be Paris"
I tapped the steering wheel "im scared Payton, I'm 22 and I'm fucking scared"
"Age doesn't matter, everyone can be scared at some point, I was scared each time I left the country, every time I went into an unknown building, hell I was scared leaving Jason when I had to go back on duty, it's part of life but I understand why you would be scared of this, think of it as a Christmas gift, what do you want to do about it, all that matters is you right now, so Davis what do you want to do?" I sat there just staring at my steering wheel, Trent in my head growling, I sighed "I want to give it a go but I think I'm gonna have to lay everything out in one hit and give them the option to stay or go" this made Trent whimper but he agreed
"I think that's the best way to go Davis, so where are you, it's to quiet to be at the pack house?"
"I'm in my car, I was driving home from work and I needed to pull over as I had to much going through my head and I needed to talk to someone, I feel bad I didn't call Luke but I knew he wasn't the right person for this call, I feel a lot more relaxed so thank you Payton"
"No problem, so does that mean, we are going to lose you permanently to Mika's pack?" That's when I realised they didn't know about me being trained as the second in command.
"Oh ummm, so, you can't mention anything I said about my new found mate and you can't tell anyone about what I'm about to say"
"Ok Davis, I won't say a thing but your scaring me now"
" Mika is going to speak to Cain and see if he can train me up to replace him when he retires or just to have around when he is away at other packs and I'm going to train up Mac to replace me as head warrior"
"Wow that's just wow, good for you Davis, I promise I won't tell anyone until you are ready but there is going to be a lot of upset people here, when you finally tell us that your staying at Mika's pack" I sighed " I didn't mean it in a bad way Davis, god I didn't, they are just going to be sad but happy you are moving on with your life....ok" I nodded then realised he couldn't see me "Yes Payton I know....thank you, I needed this, ok I'm ready, I'm gonna go now, merry Christmas"
