Second chance for Davis?

Chapter 15

Christmas Day was a whirl wind of excitement and activity, the kids loved opening all the presents even ones not meant for them, all the pack were very excited to find out about me and Cara apparently there were bets going round who was going to be mated to me out of the guys that were at university.
Myself, Mika and Cain spent a good day working out how-to shadow Cain and how Mac would shadow me, even tho Cain was only 39 and shouldn't be retiring any time soon, the damage the hunters did on his body effected his leg and he finally admitted that it hurts to shift into his wolf which means he can't perform his duty's, it was agreed that Cain will teach me everything he can in January, I will then teach Mac for February and I will take over Cain in March but he will be around if I need help. He works full time as a teacher at the local secondary school, so he is going to find out if he can teach some self defence classes after school just so he has a hobby outside of work.

I had just finished our training session with the warriors
"Mac can I have a word with you" I said as everyone was leaving, some of the pack started to whisper, everyone is so nosy. "Come with me, it will only take a minute" I said as I walked to Cains office and opening the door, Mac walked in with a confused face as he closed the door " it's nothing to worry about Mac, what I'm about to ask and say can not leave this room, Alpha Mika will let the rest of the pack know when the time is right, is that understood?"
"Yes it is" " Ok so I will be taking over Cains position as Beta and I would like to offer you my role as head Warrior?"  "What....I....me?" "Yes Mac you are far better than anyone else in this pack, in fact you could probably take down most of the warriors in my old pack, your attacks are always on point, you are always looking for new techniques and ways to teach our classes, you make sure to teach to the individuals level, you never let your anger get the best of you and lastly to know how to split yourself from everyday Mac to warrior Mac and give orders accordingly" I looked him in the eyes and saw happiness "thank you this means so much to me, I have worked so hard, I was a bit upset when you came along but I realised I wasn't ready to take over at that point, you have taught me so much, it would be an honour to be head warrior"
" Good now, let's go and have shower and meet back here in an hour and I will explain what is going to happen going forward, just remember you can't tell anyone yet, if people ask, just say I was congratulating you on your performance the last couple of weeks" he nodded and headed to the door, still with his massive smile.

The week in between Christmas and New year was filled with lots of food, lots of movies with the pack, I was filling complete, this pack felt like my new family, so I knew it was time to tell my old pack I wasn't coming home but I needed to speak to Cara first. I asked her to come to my room, I was sitting on my bed thinking, she has been very respectful of my situation and we have taken it slow, to slow for our wolves apparently but oh well, we have held hands, cuddled up on the sofa when we watched movies and kisses on the cheek but that's it, I know she is leaving in a few days, I think I want to kiss her, no I know I do.
Cara opened my door slowly
"Hi Honey" this made me smile, Paris never gave me a cute nickname. "Everytime Davis, your blush gets redder" she giggled as I rolled my eyes but smiled, "you rang for me" she said in an awful British accent. "Yes, I'm gonna tell my family about you if that's ok, I just wanted to check before I phoned them, I'm going back at the end of January for a long weekend but wanted to tell them before that" her eyes lit up "Yes you can tell them about me" she went to grab my hand but stop so I grab her hand and pulled her towards me making her full on top of me with an ooof. We looked into each others eyes, I could she the want in hers, Trent was shouting kiss her kiss her, so I did and I felt like a thousand fireworks went off as soon as our lips touched, she moaned as I pushed my tongue into her mouth, her hands going to my hair and pulling it slightly as my hands ran down her back and rested on her bottom, we broke apart for air, she didn't waste a second attacking my neck with bites and kisses making Trent pull forward, his eyes shining as Cara let Ruby out, we spent the next 10 minutes kissing with a few bites and hickeys, I knew Cara wanted to take it further but I wasn't ready, Trent well Trent was ready about 20 minutes after we met, but I wanted to take it slow so that's what we were doing.slow and steady building trust. Cara was meeting her friends and left after half an hour.

I sat at my desk with my laptop open, as Paytons face appeared
"Hi Davis" Payton said waving, Alpha Jason popped up behind him and waved at me.
"Hi Davis, hope you had a nice Christmas, I will leave you and Payton to talk" "actually do you mind staying, I need to speak to both of you" Alpha Jason raised his eyebrows but nodded and disappeared from view, then seconds later appeared with a chair and sat down. Payton was smiling at me, I took a deep breath.
"I haven't told anyone else yet so can you keep it quiet for the moment" they nodded
"Just before Christmas I found my second chance mate, Cara here in this pack" they were both smiling and said "congratulations" at the same time making them look at each other and laugh
"That's fantastic news, so will she be coming back with you later in the year?" Alpha Jason said "ummmm well that's the thing, no" "how's that going to work Davis, you can't be separated from your mate for to long" Payton hit Jason over the head "idiot" he muttered "Umm Alpha Jason, I won't be coming back into the pack, I'm going to stay here with Cara, Mika has said it's ok to tell you but we haven't told his pack yet but Cain is stepping down and I will take his place as Beta" obliviously Payton already knew this but Alpha Jason was in shock and was quiet for a few seconds "oh wow, Davis I wasn't expecting any of this, it's fantastic news but I'm being selfish and don't want you to leave but I understand and you will make an amazing second in command Payton said you and Trent are working as one now" I nodded we spent another 20 minutes talking and I let them know that I would be coming home at the end of January to collect the rest of my things and to say good bye officially but would definitely be back to see my parents and friends. My next call to my parents was hard they cried a lot when I told them about Cara and about my new role, I'm there only child and they had me later in life, mum work part time in an office and dad is a police officer, I have a small idea that they will start looking for work closer to me but I maybe wrong, they asked to meet Cara but I explained that she is goi g back to uni and they probably won't meet her until the summer which they understood.
