Narrators POV;
-------- June 16th, 1991. (Saturday)
4:01PM (TW:DRUG USE)IT HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE Chris and Valerie had, ya know.
done everything.
They acted normal, more touchy, and maybe flirty, but they acted normal.
Nobody knew about it. They kept to themselves.
Eddie did ask why Chris spent the night, but Valerie denied that he ever did.
But, that brings them to today, which, they were all invited to a party, which Valerie wasn't particularly happy for.
But she pulled through.
"Guess who," Chris covered her eyes.
"Chris, I'm doing my makeup," she laughed, removing his hands from her eyes.
She spinned around in her chair, seeing Chris covering something behind his back.
"Flowers," he smiled, handing her roses.
"Chris," she smiled, setting them on her desk, "you like giving me gifts, don't you?"
"Of course I do. It's my specialty."
She rolled her eyes, spinning back to finish her makeup, "Pick clothes out for me, will you?"
Chris willingly did so, going through Valerie's dresser and closet.
She was done with her makeup, only because she had done her hair and makeup before Chris got there.
"All black?" Chris asked, holding up black jeans.
"No, blue jeans, please," Valerie pleaded.
"You have so many," Chris huffed.
"I only have 5, and only 2 of the five are the same color but different fitting."
"Again, to many," Chris shook his head.
He threw dark blue jeans at her, motioning for her to put them on while he found a top.
She crossed her arms while she waited after she put on the jeans, Chris was so indecisive.
He threw her a plain black kinda tight fitted long sleeve, crossing his arms as he waited to see the full outfit.
"A belt!" He smiled, looking on top of her dresser for a belt.
He tossed her a plain black one with gold metal on it.
She was surprised he did well.
"Looks like something I'd wear," she nodded.
"I know," Chris smiled as he hugged her from behind as she looked in the mirror.
"It doesn't start for a few hours. What should we do?"
"Oh, I have a guess what we should do."
....
10:01PM"Dammit, Chris! Where the fuck did you go?"
Valerie wasn't drinking, she hated drinking, she was scared to do so ever since she heard what happend with led zeppelins drummer.
"Christoper!" She yelled, looking around the crowded living room.
She was starting to get nausea, and she smelt old things that reminded her of her house back home. She hated it.
Eddie was moving around everywhere, everyone was. She couldn't find anyone.
"Chris!" She mumbled, pushing past people.
She saw Kim, she didn't know him well but she knew him.
She rushed over, tapping his shoulder, "Have you seen chris?"
"No! He was looking for you last I saw," Kim shrugged, "are you okay?"
"Yea! I'm fine, just need to find chris," she shouted over the music, trying to look over people.
She hated Eddie's height. She never got how he could see at these parties.
She climbed the arm of the couch, standing up to try to find Chris.
Found him.
He was looking around people, seemingly looking for someone.
She immediately memorized the spot he was in, crashing into him the minute she saw him.
"Valerie!" He said, relieved.
"Dammit, chris! You scared the shit out of me!" She hit his chest.
"Sorry! Drinking makes me a little woosy," Chris laughed.
Valerie turned around, holding Chris's hand.
She was gonna try to find Eddie, until she saw what she never wanted to see again.
Heroin.
The table was lined with coke, heroin and pills. It brought her back to walking into her house with eliza and Rose passed on the couch with drugs lined on the table.
"Chris," Valerie tugged on Chris's arm.
"Mh?" He asked, completely obvious.
Her mind raced back to back home. It made her sick.
"I wanna go home," she took a breath out.
"I mean okay, but it might take a minu–"
"Chris, please," she pleaded, and that's when chris knew something was upset.
Chris drove there, and he wasn't buzed enough not to be able to drive.
Luckily.
"Okay, let's go," he nodded, pushing past people.
They made it to the front door, leaving as quickly as possible.
The minute they got to the car, Valerie slumped with controlled breath's, and Chris pulled out of the street as quickly as he could.
"Can I ask what happened?" Chris asks, glancing at Valerie.
"I just got flashbacks of Eliza and Rose, you know.. like, passed out and shit, it was exactly like how they had it on the table back there."
"It freaked you out?"
"Definitely, yea."
As they took a drive, Valerie randomly blurted out something, "When's your birthday? July 20th, correct?"
"Yea, so is Stone's. Why?"
"Just asking, it's in a month or so, you're so gonna get pampered."
"Ew," Chris shook his head, "take your shoes off before you take your pants off."
Valerie looked at him confused, "What the hell does that mean?"
"I don't know."
Valerie rolled her eyes as she looked back out the window, noticing how tired she was.
Her eyes fell droopy as the car went on, and Chris soon noticed she was asleep.
They were home soon, but luckily,
By the time they arrived home, she was passed out, so Chris obligated to carry her in.
Once he kicked open and shut all the doors, somehow locking them, he placed her in her bed, taking off her boots before covering her with her blanket.
He went to leave, but Valerie sleepily turned to him.
"Chris, stay," she mumbled.
He sighed, knowing he would regret it if he didn't.
He took off his boots, laying down with Valerie.
She snuggled up to his chest, comfortably falling back asleep while Chris just smiled.
He really liked this girl.
