VALERIE WATCHED AS HER WHOLE 'friend group' played basketball.

It had been about 2 and a half months since she officially met Chris, and it was close to a month since he asked her to move in.

They weren't together and still haven't moved in with each other.. yet.

They still hadn't told Eddie, given they were waiting to know what was happening with Beth and all.

She had made some new friends, in new meaning all of Pearl jams buddies.

Alice in chains.

She was becoming close friends with demri parrott, Layne Staley's girlfriend.

Beth, too, but demri mostly, they hung out a lot if demri wasn't with Layne or Valerie wasn't with Chris.

So she sat on the steps of jeff's front porch, watching the Alice in chains guys, Pearl jam, and Matt and Chris all playing basketball.

Well, Dave was sitting out, timing and scoring the points down.

"Are yall done? It's starting to rain!" Demri shouted, looking up at the clouds.

"A little rain won't hurt us!" Jerry smiled, blocking Chris.

It didn't work very well.

"Yes, it will!" Beth yelled back, scooting under the porch roof more.

"The one day I didn't wear boots," Valerie mumbled, looking at her vans.

"You always have to wear boots in Seattle if you haven't realized that already," demri laughs.

Not planned, but Beth, demri, and Valerie were all matching.

Somehow.

They all have blue denim overalls on with a black undershirt, either plain, or with a band logo and black shoes.

Valerie had a plain long sleeve on, demri had a band shirt with rolled up sleeves, and Beth had a plain black shirt on with rolled up sleeves.

Full circle, i guess.

"I've realized," Valerie laughed, watching the group of boys start to get rained on.

"Should we get towels?" Beth asked, looking at the start of the rain fall.

"Oh, certainly," demri nodded.

They went in, grabbing at least 15 towls, if not more, and sat them in the dry area, waiting for the group to finish.

"Are yall done?" Valerie yelled out, standing with the 2 girls.

"1...2," dave shouts, "times up!"

It was Alice in chains against the temple of the dog, 4 against 6 wasn't fair, but nobody cared.

"Temple of the dog won!"

All 6 men cheered, jumping up and down.

"Towls!" Beth said as the wet men came up the porch.

They all grabbed one before heading inside, and Valerie, demri, and Beth weren't pleased to go inside.

They grabbed the extra towls, placing them back inside before sitting down on an empty couch.

"Where is eddie?" Beth asked.

"And Layne?"

"And chris?"

"Where's Mike starr?" Sean mocked the girls, shaking out his hair.

"Oh, real nice," demri looked away from the water flying everywhere.

"The four went to grab shorts, Jeff has like 20 just because they always run around outside like that," Stone said as he dried off his hair.

"Like, 20 of his?" Valerie asked.

"No, like ones he steals or that don't fit," Mike added.

Having 2 Mike's messed them up.

"We come baring gifts!" Chris smiles, showing the shorts.

"What about shirts?" Demri asked.

"Jeff and Stone live here, and the rest had no shirt on.. get the idea?" Dave asked.

"Yea, sassy," Valerie jokes, smiling up at Chris, who snuck up behind her.

He shook his hair out, acting like a wet dog.

"Nice, real fucking classy Christoper," she shielded her face from water droplets.

"Sorry!" He laughs, sitting on the arm of the couch.

"What if that couch just flips?" Mike Starr laughed, pointing at eddie on the back of the couch, and Chris and Layne at the to arms.

"Don't say that," Jeff commented, sitting on the floor, "what should we eat?"

"Pizza, no shit."

He rolled his eyes at Jerry, "Pizza, it is!"
....

"Hey, eddie," Valerie turned to Eddie as everyone was busy chatting away.

"Yea, sis?"

"Uhm, when is Beth moving in?"

"Tomorrow, I think," he said, "why?"

"Well, chris asked me to move in with him and-"

"You want to? Yea, why not? Gives me more privacy," Eddie wiggles his eyebrows.

"Gross, like really gross," Valerie shakes her head with a face of a disgust, "do you think it's too early?"

"No, of course not!"

"Are you sure?" She asked, looking over at Chris's direction.

"It's been two and something months, doesn't hurt anyone, I'm only a walk away!" Eddie smiles.

"I guess. Maybe I'll move next Saturday or something to move everything."

"I'll have Beth move her moving in next Saturday to, then."

"Why, why not have it next tomorrow still?"

Eddie laughs, "You know why."

Valerie immediately stands up, dusting herself off, "yea, no, shut up. I'll be going to Chris now."

Valerie walked over to Chris, standing on her tiptoes to whisper in his ear.

"I'll be moving in next Saturday, by the way."

Chris looked over his shoulder and smiled, "Next Saturday? You finally tell eddie?"

"Obviously."

"Great, I'll have you all to myself next Saturday then," Chris smiled.

Valerie kissed his cheek, smiling as she walked away.

Next Saturday was gonna be fun.
