MOVE IN DAY.

A day they had all been dreading.

Move in the day.

Valerie took the day off of work to move into Chris's, Beth took a day off of work to move into Eddie's.

It was gonna be chaotic.

"Where's eddie?" Demri asked, throwing clothes over her arm.

Since Chris was next door, they did really have to pack. They just had to put it in boxes or carry it over.

Which is what they were doing.

"At beths packing her things. Along with Jeff, Stone, and Mike," Valerie said, taking the posters off her wall.

Demri threw the clothes onto the floor, moving onto posters.

They just wanted everything to be taken off the walls to get moved over.

"Whats this?" Demri asked, noticing a tape behind a poster.

Valerie looked over at demri, stepping off the stool she was on.

"It's labeled, 'Rose and Eliza, date 2/1/90', is this your best friends from home?"

"Yea- but I never saw that?" Valerie took the tape from demri, "should I play it?"

"Oh, yea, yea, definitely."

Valerie slid the tape into the player, pressing play.

-
She heard shuffling before she heard talking.

'"Dammi, eliza! You almost knocked the coffee over!"

"Shh! It's going!"'
-

Valerie smiled as she heard the voices she hadn't heard in so long.

-
"Oh hey val!" Rose said loud and cheerful.

"We know you like, you know, you're hearing this if we're dead-"

"At least one of us is dead,"
"Yea, probably both of us?"
"Shut it! Stop talking over me!"

"Sorry, eliza!"

"Okay, anyway, yea. We're dead, sorry, again, you probably found the note, yea? It's not a suicide note.. no! Definitely not. We aren't dying if we don't have to."

"No, yea, no! We wanna see you at least have kids."

"Could we make it that far?"
"She'll find her prince one day."

"Yea. Okay. When you have kids, name the girl Eliza!"

"Name her Eliza Rose. Appreciate both of us!"

"Yea, okay, yea! Do that, but don't get pregnant from some dump, don't get a steve."

"Hey, eliza, fuck you, steve wasn't so bad!"

"Get to the point!"

"Yea! shit, sorry!" Rose ruffled around, "we wrote you birthday cards to last till your 100, if you die- the ones after, what? 85? Are just like, just "happy birthday", yeah? Okay."

"Comforting rose, real comforting!"

"Sorry!"

"We let a lot of things of us. There's some that have presents, tapes of us till you're like.. 40? Then baby or grand baby shit."

"You better have kids."

"Yea, okay, we should end this! We have like, 20 tapes to do and notes."

"Yea! Love you!"

"R and E team signing out!"
-

"Jeez, they sound chaotic," Chris smiled as he leaned against the door.

"They were," Valerie laughed, taking the tape from the player.

"Where did they even put the cards?" Demri asked, taking down more posters.

"Uhm," Valerie thought, looking around the room, "here."

She walked up to a good-sized lock box she had, unlocking it with a key and opening it.

"100 gifts and cards from Eliza and Rose, labeled."

"There they are," Valerie smiled as she locked them back up.

"That's nice, but," Chris moved back into the room, "their close to done at Beth's, we better get going if we wanna beat them to it."

"Shit."
....

"It's all put up," Chris said as he stood behind Valerie as they looked into the room.

"Looks nice," Valerie said, "I will be paying rent, though," Valerie added.

"I can't say no.. can i?" Chris asks, looking down at Valerie.

"Oh, no, definitely not," Valerie said as she jumped onto the bed, laying down.

Chris sighed, sitting in the bed with Valerie.

"You know, most people date before they move in with each other, but us," Valerie stared at the ceiling, "do all the things couples do.. without dating."

"Never looked at it that way."

"I never really have till today, just because of Beth and eddie."

"What do you mean?"

"They have been together since high school and are just now moving in, but me and you just met. What? 2 months ago? It's such a fast pace."

"Do you regret it?"

"No, definitely not, do you?" Valerie asked, looking up at Chris.

"I asked you to move in, didn't i?"

She shrugged, "True, I guess. I just feel at home, but also dont?"

"You know what would make you feel at home?"

She sat up confused, "Huh?"

He smiled mischievously, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Chris!"
