VALERIE WATCHED AS THE TIME went by slowly.

Valerie felt as if she was back in school, waiting for the very last bell to ring.

It only was slow because she was excited about something, and that something was seeing pearl jam and soundgarden sing at a bar.

She's heard Eddie sing, of course, but she hadn't heard Chris.

He wouldn't let her hear anything, he always said it had to be a surprise.

6:00!

She immediately got up and went over the counter, yelling at David she was leaving, "See you Monday!"

She practically ran home, overly excited for the gig.

They didn't preform till 7:30, or atleast pearl jam performed at 7:30, soundgarden wasn't till 8:00.

"Excited?" Eddie asked as she rushed through the door.

"I have an hour to get ready ed, I'm rushing."

"And hour is perfect amout of time!" Eddie shouted as Valerie ran down the hallway to her room.

She quickly put on a record while she got ready, she never could get ready without music.

She already knew what she was gonna wear, or had an idea.

She got dressed rather quickly, it was simple but cool.

It was darker blue washed colors jeans with a black def Leppard shirt.

She didn't know if def Leppard was the best choice but she liked it ethier way.

She was just gonna were her boots that laced up to her ankles.

With 45 minutes she had done her hair, make up and put on all her jewelry.

Her hair was regular, and she still had the beach wave to it, and her makeup was basic.

"Are you good?" Eddie asked as he walked into her room.

"Great, why?"

"You're never this happy, you know."

She shrugged, "I haven't gone out in months, I'm just happy to go out again."

"Positive?" He asked.

He was worried, when she went in a spiral she got all numbed up and forced a happy smile.

But what he didn't know is that she went crying to Chris, her sprial had already burst.

But he knew she was fine, there was nothing ticking that she wasn't.

"I'm fine ed," she grumbled as she took the record of the player.

"There's the val I know!" He teased.

"Fuck off, ed, go get ready."

"I am ready?"

She turned to him, looked him up and down and shook her head, "you fit into Seattle perfectly."

"I've been here for close to a year, val, obviously."

"Don't get sassy," she said as she put her hands on her hips.

"Well Mrs Valerie," Eddie mocked her, "we better get going if you wanna see your boyfriend play."

"What boyfriend?" She scoffed, walking past Eddie.

"Chris? Chris cornell? The guy you hang out with more then me."

"You're always busy."

"Dogded the bullet? Interesting," Eddie smiled.
