VALERIE SAT AT THE CASH REGISTER, BORED.

It had been 2 days since she had talked to Chris, only because Chris decided to give her space.

Valerie hated ignoring him. She felt numb to everything except when it came to him. Besides him and her best friends, she didn't care too much.

Oh, and eddie.

She felt like a burden to Chris, like he only did it for pity for eliza and Rose being dead.

She really did miss Chris's upbeat personality, but she ignored the signs to tell her to talk to him.

Chris beat himself up for it. He tried to give her space, but he was officially over it.

Valerie looked up at the bell ringing, but she didn't see anyone, so she just looked back down, ignoring it.

"Valerie," a familiar voice said.

She looked up, only to be met with Chris's eyes.

"What, chris?" She mumbled, coming off more harsh than she wanted.

"When you get off, I'm taking you somewhere, okay?"

She looked at him confused, "What?"

"You'll see." He flatly stated, walking out.

She was offly confused, Chris ignored her, and then all a sudden popped up.

What?

"What was that about?" Eddie asked as he peaked over a shelf.

"Hell, as if I know," Valerie shrugged.

"Finally trying to talk to you again?" Eddie asked, putting a record on the table in front of Valerie.

"He's your friend, shouldn't you know?"

Eddie smiled, "I know a lot more than you think."

He took the paid record from Valerie and walked out, only as stupid as anyone.

But, non the less, it still left her confused.

Now she had hours to go till further more information.
....
6:01PM

"Bye, david!" Valerie yelled as she walked out of the store.

She looked around for Chris as soon as she left, but she couldn't find him.

"He was messing around," she huffed under her breath, starting to walk off.

"I wasn't. You just didn't see me," Chris came from behind her.

She turned around, looking to Chris, "Hello."

"C'mon, we got a drive to do," Chris waved her to follow him.

She quickly got into the car as Chris started it up, silent.

"How long of a drive?"

"5 to ten minutes," Chris stated as he pulled out of the driveway.

She nodded, almost feeling awkward, but there was more sad tension than anything.

The drive was quiet, and the sun was setting and hitting Chris perfectly.

Oh, don't do this now, Valerie thought in her head as she looked over to Chris.

"We're here, follow me," Chris plainly said as he got out of the car.

Valerie did as told, following him to this werid building.

It was abandoned but tall.

She was confused why they were there, but still followed Chris up creaky stairs.

When she got to the top, Chris led her to the middle of the rooftop, sitting down and patting in front of him.

"Why am I here, Chris?" She asked as she sat in front of him.

"Why have you been pushing from me?" He asked, ignoring her question.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Don't be stupid, Valerie."

"I don't want to be a burden, chris."

Chris moved hair from his face, sighing, "You're not a burden."

"Don't lie. You're just giving me pity because of Eliza and Rose."

"I'm not, Valerie, for fucks sake I actually like hanging out with you."

"You shouldn't!" Valerie huffed, "you don't need to, you shouldn't."

"Why shouldn't I, huh?"

"I can't be happy without eliza and Rose! I can't, chris!" Valerie got up.

"They're dead, Valerie, they're fucking dead! You can't live your whole life in fucking misery!"

Valerie started to walk away, shaking her head, "I don't care if they're dead. I can't find peace in myself without them!"

"It's called grieving!" Chris shouted as he got up, "do you think it was easy for me to loose fucking Andy? No! I'm not fucking over it. But I got fucking better, you just got to fucking allow yourself to!"

"I don't know how to do that."

"That's why I want to help you, Valerie," Chris walked up to her, holding her shoudlers, "I've lost a bestfriend once, I know how it's like, let me help you."

"I cant," Valerie cried.

"Why not?"

"I don't wanna lose you too."
