"Your highness, who would you like to be your tailor for your attire during your coronation?"
"What would be your desired menu? For the ball occuring directly after your coronation?"
"Any specific guest you would like to add to our guest list full of nobles?"
"What is your desired theme for the decorations?"
The servants and secretaries swarmed the future Emperor. He just wished they would shut up. But he cannot shout at them. That would put a stain into his reputation. And as the future Emperor you cannot have a dirty reputation. He knew that the role of the king is a lonely one to play, for he has to complete duties. He has no time for incompetent and arrogant behaviors. No matter how fun it may look. But he cannot simply complain. If he was, it would be in his own mind. If he is heard complaining about the such role, they would say he was 'ungrateful' because he had all the luxury at the tip of his fingers and he doesn't even respect the role. To other's minds, being King or an Emperor means you could do whatever you want. But that is not how it works. With great power, comes great responsibility. He may have the throne, yes, but he had a whole empire to hold stable during his reign. The future Emperor removed himself from his mind space when somebody tapped his shoulder. He turned towards the servant who had done the action. "I'm sorry, your majesty. But I did not know if you were listening. As we were saying, (blah blah blah smth smth smth insert stuff)"
They continued asking him about his coronation which would occur in a few weeks. He wished it didn't even come. He doesn't want to be here. He wants to be a child again. Even if his eldest brother despised him then, at least he was happy then. Before being the crown-prince. When it was just him and Prince Wilbur. He stopped walking as he noticed something odd. He hadn't visited his brothers in weeks. "I will answer your questions later, for I have important matters to attend to." Prince Tommy shooed the servants away. He needs a clear mind before talking to his brothers.
He walked through the hallways towards the door leading to a music room. He had decided to check on Prince Wilbur first, they had more history together than his eldest brother. The door was slightly open. Allowing him to peek inside. He saw both his brothers inside. Prince Wilbur playing the guitar and Prince Technoblade playing the violin. He didn't know that his eldest brother knew how to play. Prince Techno had told him that he doesn't play any instruments. And then he find him inside the music playing the violin smoothly. As if he knew how for years.
He silently knocked on the door. Catching the attention of both his brothers. "Ahhh. Prince Tommy. I am glad to see you away from your royal duties." Prince Wilbur first spoke. "Glad to see you as well" Tommy responded. "What brings you here today?" Techno asked.
"I just wanted to see how my brothers are doing." Tommy responded. "Oh really? Now is the time you've decided to talk to us. It's been 3 years since you last actually cared for what we were doing." Techno shot to his youngest brother. Prince Tommy didn't seem fazed by the sudden appearance of anger. He had delt with these multiple times during those 3 years his brother was speaking about. "Tech, you know he's been busy with Emperor stuff." Prince Wilbur attempted to ease Prince Technoblade's anger. Keyword: Attempted. "Yeah, but he could still make time for us. Father had!" He argued. Prince Tommy didn't seem bothered, it was like he doesn't see the problem arising. "Maybe because he had dozens of connections all around, while I only have 1 or 7." You muttered. You tried to make it sound as unnoticeable as possible. But with Prince Technoblade as your opponent, you don't have much of a chance at hiding it. "Can you shut up!" Prince Technoblade shouted. That was when Prince Tommy froze. He was never told that before. Whenever he and his brothers have an argument, it would always end with them forgetting about it.
Prince Tommy knew that when he visited them weeks ago, it was only for his duties. But he feels like he doesn't know his brother anymore. It was like they're back to being strangers again. Before he could do any more damage. A servant had called out for him. Giving him the best excuse to leave their conversation. He felt guilty for leaving them just like that. That could have tainted their relationship forever. But he already knew that it already had. He doesn't know what he should do about it now. All he knows, that he has to focus on what is happening right now. He doesn't have time to regret past decisions. He couldn't relax that much for these past few years. He had the duties of the crown-prince, the empress's, and even the emperor's duties as well. He's already having a difficult time balancing those three sets of responsibilities. He and his brothers rarely see each other because he was drowned in the responsibility of the heir to the throne. But cards in the ring have been dealt in the wrong way. He shouldn't have made that decision. Now his eldest brother possibly hates him again.
He has every right to be though. He avoided them left and right. He ignored them when they asked to hang out. He completely shut them out of his life. He had delt with his problems the wrong way. And now he regrets all of those decisions he had made. But he pushed the thought away, because he knew he had more on his plate other than that problem.
