I Just Lost My Friend

Percy POV

"Percy, calmed down" Annabeth grabbed my shoulder "We have to tell Chiron about this"

I stared at her with disbelieving looks, I just saw Reiner got kidnapped and she just told me to calm down?

"They took him, Luke finally kidnapped him and you say calm down?!" I raised my voice

"Don't you dare Seaweed Brain" Annabeth responded in cold and harsh tone "I wanted to save him as soon as possible, but recklessly chase after Luke army is suicide"

I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose, Rachel already gone to distract the teacher and the police.

"First we go back to the camp, okay" Annabeth said in much softer tone this time "Then we can discuss it with Chiron"

I nodded my head as Annabeth stopped a taxi, we only sat there in silence as the taxi drove us all the way to the camp. When we arrived at the big house, I saw Chiron read a book and he lifted his head up when he heard someone coming. Chiron's eyes lit up when he saw both me and Annabeth.

"Good afternoon" he greeted us "Perseus aren't you supposed to be in school?"

"Good Afternoon Chiron" Annabeth greeted him and smiled a little "Can we talk? We have something important to discuss"

"Yes, of course. What is it my dear?"

"It's Reiner. Luke managed to kidnap him" I answered quickly "Luke said something about the labyrinth if I want to save him"

Chiron dropped his book as his expression turned into a horror look "Reiner is what?"

"I couldn't do anything as I see Jake hurt him and took him away" I said through gritted teeth "Even though he managed to save me multiple time, I can't do the same thing"

Chiron closed his eyes as he tried to control his breathing, Chiron must be sad and angry, after all he had a close relationship with Reiner.

"Chiron, tell me about this labyrinth" I beg him "We have to save him as fast as we can. I'm afraid that Kronos will-"

I wanted to finish that sentence but a look from Chiron and Annabeth made me unable to finish that sentence. Because we all realized if Kronos managed to use Reiner as a vessel, the only option to beat Kronos is by killing Reiner. And all of us didn't want to do that, Reiner is very dear and important for us all.

"Did it true? Reiner is gone?"

I turned and found Thalia standing near the door, her hand trembling.

"Thalia, I'm so-"

"Stop" she said in a strained voice, she's trying to control her anger

"We need to stay calm" Chiron finally spoke "We have to think about the plan to rescue him, as fast as we can, before it too late"

"The labyrinth" Ananbeth said "I think I have some scroll about it, I'm bring it here"

Chiron nodded and Annabeth quickly ran towards her cabin.

"And we-" Chiron stopped himself as if the next words going to hurt him

"I won't let you kill him!" Thalina snapped "Over my dead body"

Chiron closed his eyes "I know this is hard for all of us, but we-"

"No, means no!" Thalia slammed her fist at
the table "That won't be an option Chiron"

"I'm with Thalia" I added "I won't kill him, there's must be another way to bring him back if Kronos able to possess him"

Annabeth came back with a mountain of scroll on her hand "We'll discuss that after we found Reiner. Even if Kronos managed to take over his body, I'll find a way to save him without killing him"

Annabeth dropped all the scrolls into the table and she began to divide the scroll between us four.

"Somebody need to tell Lee or Will" I said "They have to know about this, this about their brother after all"

"And Nico?" Annabeth asked.

I pursed my lips, a few days ago I met Nico at the camp, when I'm trying to reach Reiner. Nico looked extremely worried about Reiner, he said something about Reiner about to leave him for forever and he made me promise to keep an eye on him and to protect him. And I failed.

"I'll tell him," I said "That is my responsibilities"

"I'll called Lee and Will, I believed they are enough" Chiron said

"Get away from me, you liar!" Nico screamed as he pushed me away "You promised me!"

"I'm sorry, I can't save Reiner" I said and looked at the ground "I'm sorry"

Nico fell down and cried "No, please. He's the only family I have here. I don't want to lose him"

I walked towards him and crouched in front of him "Nico, I will find him and bring him back. I can promise you that"

"No, no" Nico sobbed "I don't believe you"

"Nico, please" I reached out to him.

Nico slapped my hand away "Just go away, you liar."

"I know I just broke my promise, but Reiner is like a brother to me. He is also very important to me, I swear on my life Nico, I will find and bring him back here" I said.

Nico wiped his tears as he looked at me "Are you-are you promised? Will you do that?"

I hug him and Nico cried on my chest "Yes, I will bring him back even I have to destroy the world itself"

"I'll keep you to that" Nico sniffled "Don't break that promised"

I only nodded and Nico finally calmed down a little, after a few moments he went back to cabin 11 and asked me to follow him. Nico handed a figurine, Hades figurine.

"This is for luck" he said in a fond tone "Whenever I felt sad or angry, the figurine always managed to me calm"

"Thank you Nico" I said and ruffled his hair.

"I really wanted to help to find my big brother, but I will be a burden for all of you" he said and played with the end of his T Shirt "I still can't fight and use bow and arrow. Also he made me promise to never leave the campground"

"It's okay Nico, leave that to me okay"

He only nodded and went back inside to cabin 11. After that, I quickly walked back towards the big house. Inside I found Lee and Will already read the scroll together with Annabeth, Thalia and Chiron.

"How's Nico?" Thalia asked.

"He's mad at first, but he calmed down a little," I explained.

We all went silent as we studied the map to the labyrinth itself.

"Chiron, if we managed to find the entrance, then what?" I asked "Will this be a quest?"

Chiron nodded his head "Yes, and one of you have to see the oracle"

"But-" I wanted to say that the prophecies didn't affect Reiner's wellbeing, but Thalia cut me into it.

"The prophecies didn't affect him Chiron" Thalia said and pushed a scroll away "It will be useless"

"But it will affect us" Lee said

"He broke one, remember?" Annabeth added "One of should had died back in the last quest, but Reiner managed to break that"

Chiron sighed as he massaged his forehead "This is will be hard, I can't just sent you out there like this"

"But, we can't just waste our time here!" I protested "We don't have time! We have to go with or without the prophecy"

Chiron closed his eyes as he lost in thought.

"I'm sorry, but I can't decide anything, not now. It's too dangerous to send you to a quest without guidance or prophecies. I must consult this to Mr. D, when he got back from The Olympus" Chiron said.

Before I could react, a flash of light appeared in front of the big house and the door opened. I saw Apollo without his usual brilliant smile, he looked tired and stressed.

"All of you in here, you have been summoned" he said "There's an emergency meeting about my son, Reiner"
