"Lando?" Elenore looked around the room; it was pitch black. "Lando?!" She tried to sit up, but something was holding her back. She couldn't move at all. She started to panic about what was going on.
"Lando!" And then she heard it—a piercing scream. It frightened her so much that she jolted up and started to run. But it didn't matter how much she ran because she was standing still. There was something there; just out of reach was a door. It creaked open, and inside there was somebody sitting on the floor. She tried to get closer, but..."Elenore?!" Lando was frantically trying to get her to wake up. For the past 5 minutes, she had been crying and screaming in her sleep.
"Elenore? Please wake up!" He was lightly shaking her body.
"Lando?" She opened her eyes.
"Oh, El." He wrapped his arms around her, lightly picking her up and placing her in his lap.
"What happend?" She was still crying, but she was trying to hold it back, making her gasp for air.
"It was a bad dream, but you are okay now." He dried her tears with his thumb. "Breath with me, okay?" She nodded, "Breath in. Breath out. Breath in. Breath out."
"Thank you," she said, wrapping her arms around his neck and nudging her head into the crock of his neck.
"No need to thank me, El; I'll always be here, no matter what." He hugged her even tighter, getting the feeling of never wanting to let go.________________________________________________________
The morning after, Elenore woke up to the light of the sun hitting her face. She stretched out but found herself somewhat restrained. She was shocked as she opened her eyes and saw Lando's face right in front of hers. His arms were still embracing her after last night. She smiled at the thought of being able to be this close to him. So she snugged up closer to him, burying her face in his chest.
"Good morning." His morning voice sent a shiver down her spine. She didn't know why, because she had heard it before, but now something was...different.
"Morning," she said, looking up at him, but his eyes were still closed.
"You slept well?" She couldn't help but just admire him—how beautiful his freckles were, how peaceful he looked right then and there.
"Better than ever," he said, placing his hand on the small of her back, bringing her closer to him and making her giggle lightly.
"What?" He opened one of his eyes slightly.
"Nothing," she smiled.
"Can we sleep a bit more? I am still tired," he yawned. The clock was only 8.50 AM.
"You can sleep more if you want to, but I have to shower." She started to pull away from his grip, but to no avail; he only held on harder.
"Nope, you are not."
"Yes, I am Lando; my sweat smells like fries." A chuckle escaped from his lips, and his grip was lossened.
"That's true," he said, and she lightly punched him on the shoulder. The shower was well needed; being able to wash her hair made her feel like she was washing away what happened last night. She knew that at some point she would have to tell Lando what had happened with Pierre, but right now she did not have the energy or the need to tell him. She grabbed one of the towels and wrapped it around her.
"Lando?" She walked out of the bathroom and saw that he was still in bed.
"Mhm," he said, not even bothering to open his eyes.
"Can I borrow a shirt that I can wear over my dress? It's way too early to walk around in a slutty dress," he chuckled.
"Go ahead,"
She picked up a dark green shirt and decided that it would do. When she slid it over her head, she caught a whiff of his cologne. This man knows his perfumes, because goddamn, he smelled magnificent."El?" Lando sat up in the bed, scratching his arm.
"Yeah?" She peered out of the bathroom.
"Breakfast?"
"You know it." Surprisingly, they weren't hungover. Which was a huge shock in regards to Lando's state yesterday.
"I have to fix a new keycard for my room as well; I'm leaving tonight." This came as a shock to Lando; he hadn't even thought about her needing to leave.
"What? Why?" He stood up and grabbed the t-shirt that she had slept in; it smelled just like her.
"I have meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday." She stepped out of the bathroom, wearing his hoodie, something that made him smile. "You seem surprised?"
"Yeah, I just thought you were going to stay her in Monaco for a while," he scratched the back of his head, looking down on the floor.
"You can just say that you'll miss me," she winked. Lando felt his knees get weak; whatever she was doing to him, he liked it.
"Of course I will; you are my best friend." He felt himself cringe; the words best friend felt wrong. Not that she wasn't his best friend; she was, but there was something more. Something that he wanted to find out more about.
