Autobot Base No POV
Ratchet was doing some experiments as Axel and Raf watched him. Axel met Jack, Raf, June and Fowler not too long after the skirmish at the Monster Truck Stadium. Axel was allowed to live in the base as June gave him a check up as he needed more nutrition so she brought some home made food for him. He got cleaned up and got new clothes that made him look more handsome, according to Miko.
He showed his mechanic skills when he tuned Chromia's vehicle mode to make her faster. So he was useful for making the Autobots faster.
Ratchet: hmm. Surprisingly stable.
Raf: hey, Ratchet. Is that Synthetic Energon?
Ratchet; well, yes. In fact, I'm preparing to test a sample. I see that you came equipped with protective goggles.
Raf; I can watch?
Ratchet: Axel, where are yours?
Axel: I don't have any.
Ratchet: then stay back. <prepares the insert the
Synthetic Energon> we just add some to this test engine...
The engines blue colors turned to green colors. They waited a little as the engine started going.
Raf; it worked! Bee!
Ratchet: uh-ut-ut! This iteration of the formula requires further trial before we can even think about using it for fuel, ammunition, or first aid, which is rather unfortunate, since our own Energon reverses are at an all-time low. Our severely outnumbered warriors have been rapidly burning through our stockpile of late as the Decepticon Army continues to run us ragged and grind us down. Natural Energon is in such short supply on your planet, and Megatron seems to have his oily claws buried deep in all the Earth's deposits. But if we can successfully produce a synthetic form, we can manufacture all the energy we'll ever need.
Axel: but aren't the upgraded blasters already designed to lower the Energon intake?
Ratchet: indeed. However these are Wade's designs and he is building the Decepticons a even bigger army than what they had before. Wade upgrades faster than we can destroy his Sentinels, I hate to admit it but Wade is turning this War in favor of the Decepticons.
They heard the main computer beeping.
Arcee: more Energon on the move.
Bulkhead; again?
Optimus; their recent activity suggests a familiar pattern. The Decepticons are desperately scouting for new deposits to mine. Autobots!
Ratchet: Optimus... if one of you comes back wounded this time- well, our Energon reserves are nearly depleted.
Optimus; understood.
Axel: with the tuning I did to all your vehicle forms, you are faster than before, use it to your advantage.
Optimus: very well. Activate the ground bridge. Autobots, roll out!
The others turned into vehicle form and left through the ground bridge.
Ratchet: sometimes I wish I could do more.
Axel: you're doing the best you can, Ratchet.
Ratchet; and yet it's not enough! Wait.
Ratchet went over to the synthetic Energon as he injected himself with a dose of it, his blue optics turned green as he dropped the injector and he fell down.
Axel: Ratchet!
Raf:<runs over with Axel also going down> Ratchet? Wake up!
Ratchet:<sits up> how is it that such small being can be so loud?
