Everyone was worried about the Queen Mother as she lay unconscious on the bed. The royal physician was summoned and treated both the Queen Mother and Xena's wounds. After a few minutes, the Queen Mother woke up and immediately hugged Her Majesty, crying her eyes out. After a few minutes of consoling her, the Queen Mother was able to gather herself and started to talk. The first words that came out of her mouth were a plea to leave Her Majesty and her brother, as she couldn't bear to lose the only family she had. She practically begged them, saying it was no longer safe for them to stay there. Her Majesty calmed her down and explained that she couldn't abandon her responsibility of catching the traitor of Votara. She said that she couldn't leave her family alone in fear of getting killed and it was not ideal for a Queen-to-be a coward. The Queen Mother was convinced by her persuasion and asked for one thing in return, saying:
Queen Mother: "Promise me one thing. Promise me that you will not leave me alone, no matter what happens."
Her Majesty: (smiling) "Yes, I promise."
Her Majesty asked the guards to safely escort the Queen Mother to her chambers. Xena and Her Majesty were left alone in the room.
After the saga, Her Majesty's attention turned towards Xena. She noticed that Xena was struggling to fix her bandage, so she went to help her. As she tied the bandage, she mustered the courage to ask why Xena had gone berserk. Xena replied, "I don't know. The moment I saw you hurt, I lost my sanity! I thought I was about to lose you because of my incompetence, and seeing you get hurt was my worst nightmare."
Her Majesty responded, "But you're more hurt than me! You know, you can be really dumb sometimes, right?"
Xena admitted, "I know."
Both of them shared a good laugh about it. Although Her Majesty was happy that Xena was being considerate, she knew she shouldn't push Xena further. She realized it would only cause Xena to close up, so she decided not to ask any more questions.
After finishing the dressing, Her Majesty sat beside Xena, who asked, "So, what's next since the assassin we caught died?" Her Majesty replied, "I have a plan and a clue."
