Chapter Twenty Three- Don't worry

After hearing this, everyone in the room was stunned, especially Romana. In her eyes, her father was a perfect person who was incapable of making mistakes. She couldn't believe what she had just heard and threatened Bertha, saying she would kill her if she didn't stop lying. In response, Bertha said, "I know what you are going through. After all, I was your stepmother. But the harsh truth is that your father is not the most perfect person in the world. He had to make a lot of compromises. One of those compromises was my family. Yes, your father killed my family because he wanted to protect a minister in his cabinet. That minister was very powerful, and he blamed my father, who was working under him, for his wrongdoings in order to save himself. Even though your father knew that my father wasn't to blame, he compromised and ordered the execution. I was away from the capital in my hometown, and when the news reached me, it was already too late. Just like you did when your father died, I too took an oath to kill the person who killed my parents. But after I entered the palace, I realized that the power your father had was much more valuable than his life, so I decided to take it from him after his death. However, I was only successful in killing him, not in taking his power. He definitely had good children!"
Even though Romana was devastated to hear all this, she still managed to ask why she had a baby and involved an innocent child if her plan was to kill her father. Bertha replied that she wanted to make her son the King because she knew that once he became the King, no one could ever touch her. After hearing this, Xena couldn't bear to hear anymore. She stomped forward and yelled, "MONSTER! I can't believe that I served a monster all this time! You are a pathetic woman!" Bertha stayed silent in response to this comment, and after a short pause, Xena continued, "You are under arrest! You have no right to remain silent since you have committed the highest crime in this country." After finishing her sentence, Xena dragged Bertha, shoved her in the van, and took her to the capital city.
After they reached the capital city, Romana didn't even waste a single second and arranged for the court sessions and press meets. She declared that Bertha was removed from her titles and that she is no longer a part of The Royal Family, and she disclosed every crime Bertha committed to the general public.
