Hey, Scott, check this tape out. It's got Mr. Fairchild's name on it.
[SCOTT]
Maybe it's a tutorial on his storage system!
[Sparrow and Scott laugh together]
[SPARROW]
It's less of a storage system and more of a storage monster, Haha!
[SCOTT]
Well, hand it over. Hopefully it's some sort of explanation as to why this place is in such disrepair.

[GRIAN(STATEMENT)]
It's... 3:43 in the morning. I haven't left the office in three days, and I think my assistants may have taken notice, but I have my reasoning.
Two weeks ago; a strange fungus appeared in my flat. just, growing out of my sink drain.
I- It didn't look natural, I knew that much. I thought about taking it down to the institute for- for testing, but...
But- Uh.
I couldn't bring myself to come anywhere near it. Physically. Any time I tried, I got nauseous. Really, really nauseous...
Eventually I forced myself to cut some of it off and...
I can still remember the smell. Like rotting mea-
[Grian gags]
God.
Like rotting meat. I just– I shoved it in a ziplock bag and took it down to work.
The researchers at the institute took one look at it, and... well, they didn't know what to think. Neither did I.
I-it was... three days ago. I'd been feeling this sharp pain in my shoulder for about a- a week? maybe? and that day they just... burst. It was like the skin on my back had just- just ripped in half. It was agonising. I looked up people who got rid of fungus, and called them to deal with the still-growing infestation in my flat. In the meantime, I've been... here.
If you're listening to this, if you're a future archivist or researcher or whatever, the bag is in file cabinet 30. maybe you'll be able to figure out something I haven't. Just don't touch it with your bare hands. please.

[SCOTT]
I could imagine... he sounds like he's in so much pain.
[SCAR]
This was the day I had to panic-drive to the hospital for the first day since I moved to Europe, I think.
