"Oon!"/"Oon!" Oonjai turned toward the voices that called out for him at the same time.

"Where did you disappear to?"

"Ooooon! Are you OK?!"

Oonjai staggered from the force of his two close friends rushing in to hug him.

"Why did you just disappear all of the sudden? If you didn't send us a message yesterday, we'd have gone to the police!"

"Yeah. We were so worried for you."

"I went to your rented room and they said you had already moved out. Then I went to Kobkul Home and did not see both you and Klairak. I asked around and nobody knew anything or would say anything! What the heck had happened?!"

"Er...that's...." Oonjai really didn't know what to say.

"If the prof didn't tell us that you were on a sick leave, I'd have thought you were buried in a ditch somewhere!" Oonjai swallowed in difficulty. What had happened was quite difficult for him to talk about, but he just could not lie to the two friends who had always wished only the best for him. He could only slowly tell them of what had taken place.

"The thing is...the other day I went to visit Klairak and there was a problem...."

"Hah?! Wait, wait! Nonnay can't keep up anymore. Does this mean Oon and Klai are living with Mr. Tossakan right now?!"

"Yeah."

"I also have some troubles piecing things together. That Mr. Tossakan who dropped you off here once...the other partner of the pub?"

"Y...yeah."

"So what had made Mr. Tossakan decide to help out you and your brother?"

"It was because I really had no other choice, s...so I begged him to help me." However, Oonjai just could not bring himself to tell his friends everything. He was afraid...afraid that his friends would be disgusted by someone like him, someone who was willing to sell everything including...his own self.

"My, how romantic! Mr. Tossakan helping you and your brother like this must mean he's fallen in love with you for sure!"

The delighted scream from his friend made Oonjai rush to correct him.

"That's not the case! Actually, there's some...work...involved. I mean, I must work off my debt."

"That's just an excuse! What he really wanted was to have you near him for sure! Trust me! Nonnay has reviewed so many novels!" Nonnay quickly guaranteed citing his job as a BL novel review blogger.

"It's...it's not like that...."

"Shut up, Nonnay! Oonjai, look at me." The stern voice and serious gaze from Nuengdiao made everyone come to pause.

"...."

"When you asked for Mr. Tossakan's help, you had really thought things through, right?" Oonjai locked gaze with the eyes that looked at him for the truth.

"Diao, I had thought things through."

"...."

"Khun is the only one who could help me and my brother."

Oonjai opened his heart and told Nuengdiao of what he had been feeling inside.

"...." However, Nuengdiao continued to keep his brows tightly knitted, so Oonjai had to explain further.

"Uncle Sak has changed so much. There's also a matter of bigwig Songpol's gang. I alone will be unable to protect Klairak."

"If you've made your decision, then it's up to you, but you know that I worry about you, right, Oon?"
