Oonjai slowly opened his eyes. The bright light hitting his eyelids made the slight figure knit his brows. The smell of alcohol and antiseptics along with the strange white ceiling made Oonjai mumble to himself in bafflement.

Where is this place?

How come he's sleeping here?

Oonjai tried to move, but the sharp pain on his left upper arm put a stop to his movement. There was also something hanging all around the back of his left hand.

"You're awake?" Oonjai turned to face the deep, gentle voice.

"K...Khun...." The tall, burly man sitting next to his bed lifted his hand to touch all along the frame of his face with the gentlest touch.

"How does it feel? Does it hurt a lot? I better get the doctor."

Oonjai looked at all the chaos that happened once Khun pressed a button at the headboard.

He was surrounded by nurses and doctors checking his vitals and asking about his symptoms in detail. The slighter man answered everything until the head doctor was satisfied.

"From my initial report, the bullet grazed the left upper arm, and there's no complication that we should worry about. I think in one or two days, he should be able to go home, Mr. Tossakan."

"Thank you very much."

Tossakan said his words of gratitude before sending the medical team away and then turned to the slight figure lying on the white bed.

The delicateness that looked like it could fall apart at any moment made Tossakan gently stroke the slim hands. The sight from last night of the man in front of him with red blood all over made a hole in his heart.

"I'm sorry."

The deep voice's apology made Oonjai look up to lock gaze with dark eyes filled with guilt.

"Sorry...for not taking good enough care of you. Sorry for making you hurt." The tenderness brought tears to Oonjai's eyes.

"It's not your fault...."

"But if I took better care of you, this wouldn't have happened."

"Khun, please do not blame yourself. What happened was because of Uncle Sak's greed." On the other end of the spectrum, however, if it weren't for Uncle Sak's greed, the truth about his family would still be kept in the dark....

General Kajorn and Ms. Rinruedee....his remaining family....

Oonjai was about to talk about what he had heard, but the man in front of him chose to say something instead.

"About Peem...." The name of a certain someone from those lips ripped Oonjai straight back to reality.

Mr. Peem....

Right...how could he forget about this....

"About Peem, actually, Peem and I don't...."

Tossakan was about to explain something to Oonjai, however....

Knock, knock, knock.

The sounds at the door interrupted them.

Tossakan knitted his brows in frustration before giving permission to his underling standing guard in front of the door to make a report.

"Ms. Rinruedee asked to visit Mr. Oonjai, Boss."

Ms. Rinruedee probably learned the truth of everything, and it seemed his Oonjai probably learned about his circumstance as well....
