Chapter One

"Girl! What?! Anong ganap sa birthday mo sa saturday?"

I look at my friend in front of me. Nakatayo si Camille sa harap ko na nakapamaywang pa na para bang may sikreto akong tinago sa kaniya.

"I don't know. Mom wants me to celebrate it with a grand party. But, she still gave me the right to choose what will I do with my 20th birthday"

Napabuntong hininga ako matapos sabihin 'yon. I just want to sleep. Legal management is hard, but at least I'm enjoying it. Third year na kami pareho ni Camille, ako sa kursong legal management at siya naman ay sa kursong nursing.

We became friends dahil no'ng first day ko sa school na 'to, ang order ko sa cafeteria ang nakuha niya at ang kaniya naman ang napunta sa akin. Unexpected meeting, but we became friends.

"Hey, you think you wanna go have some fun?" She mischievously smiled and raised her eyebrows at me.

This doesn't sound good for me. But, I still asked her.

"Go have fun? Where?" I lazily asked and sighed.

She smirked and that is the sign that I shouldn't let her decide what are we going to do.

"Bar!" She shouted.

Yes. She shouted! Gosh! Napasapo ako sa noo ko, dahil nakita kong napalingon sa amin ang iilang students sa labas ng mini forest. Yes, our school has its own mini forest. Dito kami tumatambay kapag vacant time namin.

Her smile faded when she noticed that I'm looking at our surroundings. Napalingon din siya bago nahihiyang ngumiti sa iilang mga nanonood.

Ayan, kasi! Ang ingay. Pinigilan ko na matawa dahil alam kong nahihiya na rin siya, namumula ang dalawang pisngi at nakangusong nakatingin sa akin.

I raised my eyebrows and a smirk made its way to be plastered on my face. Napabuntong hininga na lang ako dahil alam ko rin na hindi niya ako titigilan kung hindi ako papayag.

"Fine. We'll go to a bar."

She shrieked and this time, mukhang wala na siyang pakialam kung may tumingin man. Umiling lang ako bago nag ayos ng gamit. It's almost six pm and I need to tell my parents my plan.

Pumunta na kami sa parking lot at nagpunta sa kaniya kaniyang sasakyan. Her ride is a pink Ferrari. Barbie coded talaga. And mine is a Lunar blue metallic Mercedes Benz. A gift from dad when I turned 18.

Nakauwi na 'ko around seven at sinalubong agad ako ng dalawang kasamahan sa bahay.

"Nany, where's Mom and Dad? Nakauwi na po ba sila?" I asked my nanny, she was with me since I'm what? Three years old. My Mom told me he hid me from Dad when I was still a baby, but I can't remember that part of my life. Maybe because I was still a baby, like she said.

"Nasa dining area na, anak. Maligo at magbihis ka na muna, bago ka sumalo sa kanila" she softly said to me.

I smiled at her before answering her a small 'opo' and followed what she said. My Nany is already old. She's already fifty plus, but doesn't want to retire dahil wala na siyang family. I don't want her to retire also, kaya I asked my parents, Nany to live here na lang, pero she still wants to serve our family.

After taking a shower, I changed my clothes into comfortable sleepwear. Bumaba na ako at pumunta ng dining room. I kissed Mom's cheek and also Dad's. I also greeted them 'good evening' bago umupo sa upuan.

"So, what are your plans for your birthday, Crystalania Adrian?"

I was so used to Dad calling me that kaya naman hindi na 'ko naiinis, unlike for others. Na b-bwisit ako.
