Chapter 5.

Neli couldn't do anything but scratch her head at what was happening.

First, her ex-husband suddenly appeared at their location, second, he suddenly became her leading man on her advertisement. But why should the production decide to put a male lead if she's going to do an advertisement and not a drama series.

"What is he doing here?" she feels annoyed.

"Dunno."

Neli frowned as she looked at Caleb who was busy reading the manuscript given by the director. Since nothing has changed in her scene except that there was a male lead, she doesn't need to read the new manuscript, but Caleb needs to read it so that he knows what he should do in their scene.

She turned to Mel when she heard her humming, wondering why she looked so happy today. She felt that she knew something about what was going on, but she just ignored her thoughts. She knew that since Mel came with her, she had cut off all the ties she had with the people in the country so it was impossible for her to talk to Caleb.

Neli's body stiffened when she heard the director calling her name to start their shooting, she surprisingly became nervous and hoped that she could do well in her acting.

Their first scene is walking on the shore while holding each other's hand and showing how the female lead captivates the heart of the male lead.

"Ready?!" the director shouted. "ACTION!"

Neli was surprised to see Caleb extend his hand in front of her.

"We need to hold hands." he said.

Although she hesitated, she did nothing but accept his hand to show her professionalism and doesn't want their personal issue to interfere with her work.

All the things that happened back then suddenly came back to her while they were walking holding hands. How he ignored her during two years of their marriage, how he didn't believe nor listen to her no matter how many times she explained the situation and how he made her feel that he would never love her.

Neli felt pain in her chest, the wound in her heart that she thought had completely healed, suddenly returned.

"I'm sorry, Neli." she heard Caleb say causing her to stop walking when he suddenly stopped. "I'm really sorry for everything."

She thought that she would be happy if she heard Caleb apologize to her, but she was wrong. It was like a sharp knife stabbed her heart, as if he was apologizing to her because even though he knew what was happening to her back then, he couldn't do anything or perhaps he chose not to do anything for her.

But she realized that Caleb didn't fail to inform her of everything, he didn't hide his long term relationship with Hazel from the beginning either. He even mentioned right away that he couldn't be able to love her and only married her because that was what his grandmother wanted.

She was the one who insisted on entering his life all of a sudden, because of her concern for her father and his company. She used to think that if she did everything for him, he would be able to reciprocate her feelings even though she knew it from the start that he already loved someone else.

Neli tucked the strands of her hair to her ear when her hair was suddenly blown by the wind, she closed her eyes and breathed deeply to enjoy the breeze from the fresh sea and felt the warmth coming from the sun. She felt relaxed after Caleb apologized to her, even though he doesn't have to.

She realized part of what happened to her was her fault, she knew that he was already in love with someone else but she still forced him to love her. She knew that there was no love between them when they got married and she badly needed his family that time to help and save her father's failing company, so she couldn't blame Caleb alone for what happened.

She turned her head to look at him and showed her biggest smile, she didn't know but she felt that she was finally able to accept what had happened to them.

"It's not your fault." she said. "So, you don't have to apologize."

She started walking away from him while playing happily with the white sand on her feet. Somehow Neli didn't feel so bad anymore, she doesn't know what happened to Caleb from the past three years but she's happy that they got a chance to talk to each other and could finally move on.

Caleb extended his hand in front of Neli.

"We need to hold hands." he said.

Caleb secretly swallowed his saliva when she didn't accept his hand right away, he saw the hesitation on Neli's eyes but still took his hand and could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Neli's hand was small and soft, he suddenly remembered the incident earlier where he hugged her as she fell on him. What he felt when their bodies touched was new to him, it seemed that something was digging inside his stomach and his heart kept on pounding on excitement.

In their two years of marriage, he didn't even hold Neli's hand nor kiss her on their wedding day. At that time, she looked stunningly beautiful yet looked so fragile that he was afraid that she might break and disappear if he held her in his arms.

The night when Neli's maid handed the divorce paper with her signature on it, the maid suddenly gave her resignation as well and confessed about what happened that night.

"Madam didn't do what Ms. Hazel said, Young master." the maid said. "She went to that hotel because you said in your message that you two would meet there, she was also excited because you said you had a surprise for her. And just now, Madam told me that she found out that you and Ms. Hazel was together inside the room and left the hotel after that, you can investigate to find out about the truth, Young master."

Caleb was confused about what the maid said because that's not what Hazel told him, so he finally decided to make his own investigation that night about the incident to find out the truth.

He went to the said hotel and asked the hotel owner for the cctv footage, but they were surprised when they found out that all the cctv footage on that day was deleted. It was strange, but according to the owner that the security was on duty that time might have accidentally deleted the footage, so he couldn't do anything but to wait to retrieve the entire footage for that day.

After a couple of hours, they finally retrieved and immediately watched the footage and discovered that Hazel went to the hotel along with a man. He immediately recognized the man, he was the same man who said that Neli paid him to rape Hazel, but they both entered the presidential suite together and a few minutes later, Neli came but left the room immediately for not even a minute while crying.

Caleb immediately regretted the decision he made after he watched the cctv footage and saw Neli was crying, he felt so stupid that he didn't even give Neli a chance to explain and just threw her a divorce paper.

"I'm sorry, Neli." he said sincerely. "I'm really sorry for everything."

Neli stopped walking, and he was stunned when he saw her turn to look at the clear blue sea, he was fascinated by his gorgeous wife who was standing in front of him. She looked like a goddess who came down on earth as the wind blew her long black hair, and the sunlight hit her smooth and fair skin as if she was glowing.

Caleb was amazed at how much Neli had changed in just three years, she looked stunning and free unlike before that she couldn't even lift her head whenever she was facing him.

His heart pounded and was dazzled when he saw Neli's sweet smile when she looked back at him. He suddenly wanted to embrace her in his arms to hide her so no one else could see her smile, but it feels like Neli cast a spell on him, because he couldn't move his body as if she wouldn't allow him to come closer to her.

"It's not your fault." she said. "So you don't have to apologize."

Before he could even speak, she already turned around and walked away from him. He was confused as to what she meant, how did she say it was not his fault when he was the one who didn't believe in her before and her life became miserable because of him.

Caleb wanted to approach Neli while she was happily playing on the sand to ask what she meant when he suddenly heard someone's shout.

"CUT!! GOOD TAKE!"
