Everett's POV

She freezes under my touch and I hold my breath as I wait for her response. ten slow seconds tick by. She whimpers and tries backing up more.

"I won't hurt you.." My voice softens as I finally let the hurt show in my eyes. "I could never hurt you.." More tears slip down her face as her indecisiveness shows in her eyes.

I slowly drop my hand from her face and take a short step back even though everything in my body is telling me to get closer. She staggers for a bit before her knees completely give out.

I step forward and catch her before she can slam into the ground Her eyes are closed and she's unconscious. I quickly gather her into my arms and runs through the halls towards the infirmary, pushing over pack members as I do so.

The doctor ushers me out of the room as soon as I set my little mate down. After a while of objecting I step outside of the room and press my ear to the door. I can't hear anything which frustrates me.

About 15 minutes later the door opens and I fall into the room due to me smashes my face so hard to the door. Dr. Warren laughs and shakes her head, carefully helping me up.

"Your mate has put herself into a coma like state due to all the stress she's suddenly been induced to." I blankly stare at her, but before she can explain in english Tanner and Keaton barge into the hospital room halfway between wolf form and human form.

"What's going on?" I ask

"Rogues." They both growl out and I glance to my mate on the hospital bed. Our pack has had a problem with rogues ever since we were founded by my great great grandpa 100 years earlier. "We think they're here for her."

As soon as I hear those words a loud growl erupts from my throat and I shift, knocking over medical equipment since my wolf is so large. I rush out of the pack house and howl into the sky, calling the pack warriors before rushing into the woods.
