Everett's POV
Our round principle jogs out of his house to his car. Looks like we were right; he fell asleep on his lunch break again. We chuckle under our breaths and then launch an egg each at his windshield. When he turns to look, we press ourselves down onto his roof.
We continue this little game until one egg "accidentally " finds its target on his shiny bald head. That's when we can't hold back our laughter anymore. So there we are, rolling in laughter on our principles roof while he's standing in his driveway with egg dripping down his face, when my phone goes off.
Shocked, I stumble and fall from the roof. I twist in mid-air landing on my back. I groan and push myself up, slipping my phone from my pocket and answering it. He's always been scared of us, knew something was off but never what... now I think he might have an idea..
Tanner peers down at me from the roof, laughing so hard that he's crying and no noise is coming out. Then Mr. Worshire walks over and starts lecturing me about the dangers of egging things and people. I'm trying not to laugh so I can talk to Keaton on the other line.
"Dude, where are you?" He asks and I just respond with "Out"
"Obviously, your mom is ready to skin you, do you have any idea what time it is?!" I look down at my watch and curse under my breath. It's almost 4 already. For some reason that makes me laugh harder and I'm forced to explain what happened to Keaton. "And you didn't bring me?" He laughs along. "But seriously.. If you value your life, you guys better get here soon."
He ends the call and I pull myself from the ground, still ignoring the principle who's face is almost cherry red. I hold my arms out in a gesture that would tell Tanner to jump. He shrugs and stands from where he was laying at the edge of the roof and steps off.
Mr. Worshire's jaw drops and he sputters, not knowing what to do. I bend my knees and prepare for impact. Tanner, showing off, does a few flips into the air before he lands in my arms.
Making his voice more feminine, he says "Aww! Thank you, babycakes, this is why I love you so much!!" Then he pecks my cheek.
"No problem, babes." I say just before I drop him onto the ground. He groans as his back hits the ground. I pull him to his feet and he scowls at me, rubbing his back.
Then I realized... we're both wearing white shirts which now have dirt and grass stains across the back. I push Tanner towards his car. He gets the idea and we sprint towards where it's parked at the end of the street, leaving a furious bald man behind.
When we get back to the Pack House, my mom is already standing outside the house. Her arms are crossed and she's glaring at our car. "Oh shit" I whisper under my breath. My dad stands next to her.
We step out of the car and my mom steps down from the porch. "Every year! Why can't you boys just stay out of trouble?!" She throws her hands up. "I give up! That's it! I give up!" She shakes her head and storms into the house.
My dad dismisses us to the party and we quickly leave, not wanting to face the wrath of my mom. Most of our pack is already there, along with a few others.
I sigh, already wanting to leave. I'm not much for being in large crowds, even my own pack meetings are pushing it at times. After a while, I lose Tanner so I'm left alone to fend off anyone that tries to grab my attention which usually pisses off my mom but nobody ever catches my eye.
