Everett's POV
I hear voices around me. I hear the large wolf scamper off like he just won a baseball game. After a while, the ground stops thundering and everything is quiet. I'm assuming the rogues have all left, or moved on to the children, the parents, and my family. I can't seem to open my eyes. Everything seems so dark and heavy.
I blink a few times, unable to clear the haze from beneath my eyelids. I force myself up anyways, relying solely on my nose to guide me through the woods. After making my way to the pack house without smelling rogue or hearing screams of terror, I assume they have moved on, or I was laying in that clearing for longer than I originally thought.
My wolf prances restlessly in the back of my mind, and I know I have to find my mate before he'll calm down. My head starts to ache, but I push through it, making my way through the seemingly empty pack house towards the hospital ward. I take deep breaths as I walk, trying to catch any signs of her or any other pack members. So far I've picked up nothing which panics my wolf even further.
The hospital ward is empty, panicked I run through the rest of the pack house, only running into a wall once. A pained howl escapes my throat as I discover the pack house is completely empty. i collapse onto the ground again and whimper.
Who was that man?
Alison's POV
Bright lights flash behind my eyelids and I have a feeling I'm being quickly pushed down a hallway. My eyes feel heavy and I'm drowsy.
My sensitive ears pick up panicked voices all around me but I can't se to understand what exactly they're saying. My head bobs against the cot and I just want to bury myself into it, but red alarms are going off in my head.
Maybe this is a hospital? It seems like bleach and wet dog. Definitely not a hospital.
A bright light flashes before my eyes and turn my face towards the cot even more. Smells of flowers and grass clippings fill my nose and I immediately know we're outside.
I force my eyes open and glance around. People surround me from all over. Children and women and men run frantically. I'm being pushed by two large men, both tan and bulky. A woman in a doctor's coat quickly follows after us with a clipboard clutched in her hands.
The slight of the madness is enough to panic me alone, but when I see the large 4 foot wolves running around and weaving through the people, the world goes black again.
