Summary

Scar doubts everyone's humanity

Nothing seemed to change once the wind died down. Only when they turned around to see Other Scar on the balcony did they know it worked. He sat in a chair and looked out at the city, a sketchbook in hand. Time had clearly passed as Other Jellie was bigger than a minute ago. Scar walked out onto the balcony and leaned against the banister, waiting to witness the memory neither he nor Jellie remembered.

After many minutes of nothing, Other Jellie made a move. Bored of staring at birds she couldn't catch, she jumped onto Other Scar's lap and nudged his hand. Other Scar laughed and started to pet the cat. But that wasn't what Other Jellie wanted. She let out a small meow and lightly touched Other Scar's palm, before looking him in the eyes and tilting her head.

Other Scar seemed to understand this, "Ohhh, so you don't want my love? I would, Jellie, but I want to stay outside in this nice weather!" Other Jellie was not dissuaded. Other Scar looked around at all the people milling about in the mid-morning day, "Sorry, but I won't."

"What's he talking about?" Jellie said as Other Jellie moved away, sitting on the other end of the balcony.

Scar was going to respond but the other one started to speak again. "That's cold, Jellie!" He sighed then looked down at his hands, then back over at Other Jellie. "Do you think any of the other Hermits are like me, Jellie? Y'know...weird. Non-human. I mean, I know X is from the End, but that's different. And Doc's some odd mixture between a goat, creeper, and robot. Tango's a blazeborn, do you think he's got fire magic? Cleo's got to have something, being undead and all. Jevin's a literal slime and Iskall is like a cyborg or something. Everyone has a small possibility, right?"

Other Jellie did not respond, she only flicked her tail and went back to looking at the birds. Other Scar sighed and went back to the sketchbook he had. The wind blows everything away and a card floats where Other Scar was. It's upside down.

"That's...eight," Jellie reads. "Strength." And while Scar thought the card would show a version of himself trying to lift a table or something, it didn't. The Scar in the card simply looked down at his hands, which were glowing and held a miniature sword in his palms. "So Other You is also a vex."

Scar crouched in front of the card, "I guess so. Weird that the card shows something that didn't really happen, right?"

"Maybe this is what Other Me wanted Other You to do. But I'm more interested in where this is going to go next."

"Alright, captain," Scar smiled and tried to take hold of the card, knowing he actually couldn't.
