Summary

He thinks about it

And they were back in the office. Other Scar sat at his desk, a finished design in front of him. A calendar nearby said it was deadline day. The design wasn't bad, but something felt like it was missing. Scar couldn't say what it was, though.

Other Scar slowly moved to a nearby cabinet and opened it up. He rummaged through it's disorganized mess and picked out a simple envelope. 'TO SCAR'S BOSS FROM HIS FRIENDS' was written in large handwriting. He considered this envelope, tapping it with a finger.

They sat like that for so long. Inside Other Scar, some sort of silent turmoil raged. Jellie suggested that he was battling whether to quit or not. That seemed reasonable. At some point, Other Scar had started to tap his foot on the ground in a nervous manner.

After thirty minutes (Scar had kept an eye on the clock), Other Scar took a deep breath and picked a pen up. Under the words on the envelope he wrote 'AND SCAR HIMSELF'. He also opened the envelope up and scribbled something onto the letter inside of it.

Once everything is back in order, Other Scar rolls the blueprint up and holds the envelope tightly. With another breath, he starts to walk through the aisles. His worry spreads to Scar and Jellie as they take a path they remember as the way to Mr. Land's office. Other Scar stops at the door, a hand right above the handle.

"Last chance to turn back, Scar," he whispers to himself. He closes his hand around the knob and turns it.

Time stops. Where 'MR. LAND, CEO' was, another card is. Upside down, it shows a Scar at his desk, a blueprint in one hand and the envelope in the other. XIV, Temperance. Or at least that's what they think it says.

Scar barely thinks before reaching out and touching it.
