Florence didn't like that she still couldn't go on runs but she still knew why, she just wanted to be with people and be able to do something useful but she still enjoyed being able to hold her baby and be looking after her. She had an idea for a name, but she didn't want to just give the baby the name until she could tell Daryl about it, he deserved to hear it and give his opinion about the name.
"You know, your daddy was a bit of a meanie when I first met him." She began telling her baby, a smile on her lips, she took a breath and ran her fingers across her baby's face.
"But he was a good meanie, he had a good heart, just had to meet good people to realise he's good. Now he'd do anything for the people he cares about, I can't wait for you to get to know him, your daddy's a good man and he's gonna be a great dad." The baby stared at her mother and reached for her face before looking back at the toy elephant.
Florence handed the toy elephant over, smiling as the baby threw it away, curling in her arms and fell asleep. Florence watched over her little girl, singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow, it was killing her to not know what was happening outside. She just wanted Daryl to be back and not dead.
The girl placed her baby in the little makeshift crib and laid down on the floor with her hand holding onto the box as she closed her eyes, trying to get some sleep herself. Florence jumped feeling a hand on her shoulder, she glanced around and smiled seeing Daryl sitting beside her.
"Hey, sunshine, how's my little lightning bug?"
"She's okay, been sleeping for a while." Daryl helped Florence sit up he brushed her hair away from her face, pulling her into her arms for a hug.
"How are you?" He asked, checking in on her. Making sure she was okay and doing fine.
"I'm fine, just missing talking to someone who can talk and understand what I'm saying." Daryl chuckled hearing her words, he kissed her cheek, smiling at her, happy that she was okay and alive.
"I want to give a name suggestion." Daryl nodded, looking at her curiously, Florence kissed his lips, humming softly against them.
"Evelyn." Daryl smiled, nodding as he carefully picked up Evelyn, she yawned and rested peacefully in his arms. Daryl kissed Evelyn's tiny head, walked out with her and followed her back to their room in cell block C.
Daryl watched as Florence spoke with her family, he held the baby in his arms with a grin stuck on his lips. He was happy for Florence, really happy that nothing bad had happened to them and that she had them back in her life.
Florence stared at Daryl as he handed her a baby carrier wrap, Florence stared at him with a curious gaze and smiled softly. She took it from him and placed it on, Daryl placed it on for her, staring at her with a gentle grin in his eyes.
"What is it?"
"So you can carry Evelyn 'round. When she's a bit bigger." Florence smiled, thanking him for the kind gesture, she rested a long kiss on his lips and smiled softly at him. Daryl handed her a ring, she stared at him surprised, looking at him with her mouth agape and trying to contain her grin.
"Are you proposing to me, Daryl Dixon?" Daryl looked away, a blush creeping to his cheeks, Daryl stared at her faintly and rested the ring in her hands. She stared at it with a smile, Florence placed it onto her finger and grabbed her face in his hands.
"Florence Riley, will you marry me?"
"I will marry you, Daryl Dixon." The man gave her a boyish grin, Florence giggled quietly upon seeing his reaction, Florence fiddled with the ring and stared at him as he handed her a wedding band. Florence slipped the wedding band on his finger, humming as he pulled her onto his lap
"I ain't even wrapped my head around the fact that ya in love with me." Florence grabbed his face, resting a kiss on his forehead and hummed lightly.
"I'm in love with you, Daryl Dixon. I love you so damn much, I don't want you to forget it. I will bleed with you until our last breath, I will fight to get you back, I won't stop fighting until you are safe again." Daryl brought her closer to him, he rubbed her sides and just stared off into the distance.
"I know I ain't big on words."
"Oh, thank you for the reminder I forgot." Daryl shoved her lightly, making sure to be careful so he didn't hurt her.
"Shut up." Florence hummed staring at him with a cheeky smile.
"I do hope you know I do love you, Flo. Ya really important to me and I wanna keep you and lightning bug safe but I ain't dumb to know I can't be there always-" Florence stood up hearing Evelyn start to cry, she smiled and picked the child up and sat beside Daryl with their baby in her arms.
"She got a ladybug on 'er."
"Make a wish," Florence whispered as he let the ladybug crawl onto his finger. Daryl made a wish, watching it as it flew away.
"I'll draw a little bug, that way you'll know it's me." Daryl nodded, watching Florence in fascination as she calmed Evelyn down with just a little babbling. Daryl took Evelyn from Florence's arms, babbling with her, staring at the child in fascination and wonder at the beauty of his baby.
"It'll look like this." Daryl looked at the picture, nodding with a small smile.
"Alright." She murmured, continuing to hold his baby girl.
"Thank you for bringing my family over here."
"I saw your father first, knew him from the photos. He didn't believe me at first but I showed him this." Florence smiled seeing the photo he carried around of her, Florence kissed his cheek and sat down beside him. Daryl frowned seeing Evelyn start crying, yet he watched as Florence swooped her into her arms and started breastfeeding her.
"She's got different cries. This one's her feed me cry." Daryl chuckled, watching his wife as her smile turned into a frown, Daryl rested a hand on her face and watched carefully for a reaction.
"Do they hate me for having a baby?"
"Nah, it's like Judith, babies make people happy, they ain't mad with you Flo. They'd have a problem with me if they were." Florence nodded, thanking him for his reassuring words, turning back to Evelyn as she started fussing. Florence patted her on the back a couple of times, smiling as the baby burped.
