"Mo.. what am I even..."

"I'm sorry" Mrs Eun said the first thing after you opened the door and she bowed in front of you.

"Forgive me for all that I did." She cried her shoulders shaking as you asked her to stand straight and hugged her.

"I'm so sorry... I'm very very sorry" she said touching your hair in a loving manner like she had last done the day you got married and went away.

"Come inside" you told her bringing her in to sit on your living room sofa as she sat down with you.

Jungkook sat down in front of you both on a chair.

"I've come here to ask both of you for forgiveness. Whatever I said to you... both of you I shouldn't have done that. A week ago I got diagnosed with third stage blood cancer. Your dad and I have been living separately for the last four months. We didn't get a divorce as none of us wish to get involved with anyone or anything. I couldn't take it anymore... and now it seems like it was the best decision I ever made. I have a small life left for me and I don't want to live these remaining days like a bird in a cage."

"After we went away did appa..." your throat was heavy after listening to her revelation about her condition.

"A couple of times but I just distanced myself from him as much as I could and after sometime it just didn't make sense for us to keep living together"

"So you are living alone"

"Yes"

"Are you getting treatment? I'll get you the best treatment in the world." You told her your eyes filled with tears.

"I have decided against receiving it. I just wanna live in peace for whatever days I have left. I have lived a good life and I just wanna spend my days leading a life doing good. That's why I gathered all my courage and came here to ask both of you to forgive me. Until recently  your father held me back but now I'm free... you think it didn't hurt me to see you go through all of that. I think now you must understand how it feels to be a mother." She said holding your hands.

"I think I should go to the park to bring the kids back" Jungkook excused him after a while leaving you alone with your mother to talk.

She held your hand and then at the ring on your finger.

"Is it just a normal ring or are you...?" She asked looking at you making eye contact. You nodded pursing your lips.

"Who? Is it..." She didn't say in case if it wasn't... she didn't want to assume.

"It's Jungkook. We're engaged." You told her with a tiny smile involuntarily forming on your face.

"It's the right thing to do"

"I love him and he loves me. The children have accepted me as their mother. We already have two children so... you know... I get to be a mother and we both get to spend our lives together. I didn't think I would ever get married again but then fate worked against me. And now Jungkook... if I'm doing life I wanna do it with him. And the way he loves me nobody has ever loved me like that. Pure, selfless, unconditional love."

"I'm glad you found your happiness. I know how you always wanted to be a mother and those children... they deserve you as much as you deserve them. After Dahyun went away... I couldn't... I was a mess. My child went away before me and it was the worst thing that ever happened to me. I couldn't think straight for months. I didn't used to eat or sleep well. Your dad got out it so easily maybe because he never really was very attached to you girls. I was so alone after you both left, I lost my daughters, my best friends. I managed that by busying myself with social service but watching your child die in front of you that's the worst thing you can witness in your life." She broke down into tears when you hugged her as you felt yourself tearing up watching her cry.

"When I heard about the fire at the lake house I thought I'd lost you too. Then your father told me you all were safe. That's when it hit me that I shouldn't be doing what I was doing to you."

"It's great that you are here. I missed you so much too."

"He is trying to find what or who caused the fire too."

"Jungkook is trying too but right now we're just trying to stay as far from it as we can. The children were so scared Yejun didn't leave my arms for hours after it and he's afraid to be alone anywhere. It was really bad for them."

"I don't if I'm in a position to ask you this. Its just that at this time of my life, nearing the end, I'm afraid to be alone too. Could I stay here? I could give a helping hand with the kids."

"Sure of course. I'm sure Jungkook will feel the same. And you've lived here before too right? After Ria and Yejun's birth."

"Yes. I won't create trouble for you. I just want to live in company with family." She hugged you holding your head close to her bosom. A gesture you'd long forgotten.

"The things you'd to go through my child. And I couldn't even be there for you. You don't know how it broke my heart to not be able to be there when you needed someone so much."

"I might forgive you but I won't forget that none of you were there with me when I needed you. I was all alone in the toughest battle of my life." You told her mustering up courage.

"I don't expect you too. Maybe I'm paying the price for blaming you for your misery. I know I was in the wrong." She answered.

"We can take a leap from that now. I'm at a much better place. If I hadn't went through all of that I wouldn't have gotten here. I have Jungkook now and our kids. I'm happy." You told her and she touched your cheeks affectionately.

You heard screaming noises from outside suddenly. You recognised Jungkook's voice and the children's cries when both you and your mother ran out immediately.

"I'm going to kill this man. How dare did he touch my kids?" Jungkook was beating up a man, you couldn't see his face. Some people stood around watching them. You went near him to try and stop him. You held him back holding his body from the back. Your mother went near the kids, something had happened, Ria was crying and Yejun was hugging her standing in front of her like a rock.

"Nobody touch my sister... go away..." he said when their grandmother tried to go near but watching his reaction she stepped away.

"Oh my god..." You gaped when you saw the face of the man he was beating.

"You can't stop me... I'm going to kill this man today... Eommoni take the kids inside." He requested of your mother as he stood with his foot on his chest to keep him down.
