How to win the daughter in law, part 1

Traditionally it is the mission of the daughter-in-law to win the love and affection of the mother in law. The hope in this accomplishment is to be able to have a better relationship with the family of your husband or wife. For it is a widely known fact that the people who get along excellently with their mother in law, are blessed with a happy and peaceful marriage. For those who fail in earning the mother in law's approval, the mother in law most often become the main headache of a person's life. The degree of misery varies in making people want to rip their hair from their roots to the more extreme urge of throwing themselves off a cliff. Their criticizing comments and unpredictable behaviors are not pleasant and often times out of place. Their mood can be taxing on a daughter in law and often make one feel out of control. This is the usual case for many young women marrying into a family, especially one of a prestigious clan.

But this situation is quite unique as the roles are reversed, for it is the future mother in law that is in need of the approval. To make things even more unique, the daughter in law is unaware of the matrimonial plans being made for her by not just one but two individuals. Each mother had everything planned for her with every detail in place down to the number of grandchildren they would be having in the future. They were each confident in their plans, they each knew they would be an excellent mother-in-law. They would each be loving and encouraging, but most of all, they each individually knew that they would mother in law. While the oblivious girl involved in the wished upon betrothal, the two mothers treated everything as if it were set in stone because at the end of the day a mother is always right.

It was on one particular morning that, Kushina and Mikoto met together after their husbands and sons had left and they were left with all the comfort of the world to speak freely, without the interruption of their impertinent spouses and demanding it would not be in good conduct for curious ears to know what they were plotting..

They had met in the house of Kushina since the Uchiha matriarch's home was more likely to have intruders. They sat opposite each other at the small table in Kushina's kitchen, each with a cup of tea freshly brewed by the hostess. They spoke in hushed whispers as they each leaned over the steaming cups of tea, suspicious that any sound was the footsteps of another mother, intent on stealing their intel and taking Sakura for their own son's wife. They were deep in discussion when the sudden slamming of the back door.

"Hey Mom, I was wondering if you could make me some...""

The blonde haired child who had just come inside from playing came to an abrupt stop as he sensed the dangerous aura emanating from his red headed mother. Like the horror movie he had once snuck out of bed late one night to watch, his mother's head seemed to turn around like the exorcist's, her eyes flared and her fiery hair began to dance around like tongues of fire in the air. Naruto paled in horror as he stood frozen in the middle of the kitchen like a deer caught in headlights.

"I told you NOT TO DISTURB ME RIGHT NOW" Bellowed Kushina.

Naruto was positive he had seen smoke coming from her mouth and he was more than confidant that it would not be much longer before the horns would begin to make an appearance. He fell to the floor in fear as he crawled across the linoleum, colliding with everything as he scrambled back to his feet as his gave into instinct to run out the door.

"Oh, they're crazy. Save me! They want to kill me, they want to kill me." he hollered for all the neighbors to hear as he fled for his life..

Now Kushina and Mikoto were two very civilized and loving people. While it is true that they were rivals in matching the pink haired girl with their own son, they decided to make a truce at first. Before Sakura was to become a girlfriend of one of her children, before she would marry into one of their families and have millions of children that they would get spoil,they first they had to earn it. And they knew that if they had set their eyes on the pixie girl, then they were certain that other mothers would have done the same. For the sake of making the odds better in their favor they decided to join forces and eliminate the other competition. When it was down to the final two, to which they were confident would be their own sons, it would be then that all alliances were off and it was ever mother for themselves. It would be then that they would be killing themselves for her.
