Chapter 27: Her Ex

"Have you had enough fun yet?" Ai asked her children. They nodded happily, expressing how much they enjoyed spending time with Chronoa. The Supreme Kai of Time smiled sweetly and told them she was delighted to take them to Conton City when they visited again.

"Well, it's time to go home," Kai announced, turning to his adopted mother. They embraced as Kai thanked her for everything. He then looked at Ace and Trunks, encouraging them to defeat Towa and Mira. They responded with enthusiastic thumbs-ups, grinning widely.

"Kai, make sure to visit again! And bring them along too, okay?" Chronoa called out as they prepared to leave. Kai chuckled and promised he would. They waved goodbye as Ai and the kids placed their hands on Kai's shoulders. Holding the time scroll, Kai concentrated, and a bright light enveloped them. In an instant, they were transported back to Ai's house.

As they arrived, Trunks noticed Chronoa's frown. "Supreme Kai of Time? Are you okay?"

Chronoa looked at Trunks with concern. "I just got a bad feeling..." She glanced back at the spot where Kai and the others had just been, hoping that he was strong enough to handle whatever challenges lay ahead.

"It's almost time, Mira," said Towa, the sister of the demon king Dabura, her voice laced with anticipation.

Mira nodded, turning to face a masked figure clad in time breaker Saiyan armor. "This Saiyan... he was more powerful than we first captured him. There's something he has that I don't. Like that kid I fought before. What is it?" Mira commented, eyeing the Masked Saiyan whose hair resembled Goku's.

"But this one here doesn't scare me. Not like the other one," Mira added, glancing at another Masked Saiyan.

"Of course. This one already has God Ki in him. It's all thanks to Kai that we managed to take him under our control," Towa smirked at both Masked Saiyans.

"We should continue our plan. But before that, we should pay a visit to him. He's grown quite strong. Using his power to enhance you is a good idea," Towa suggested, chuckling to herself.

-Ai's Pov-

It's been a while since the incident, and I’ve found a sense of normalcy that I thought was lost forever. With Kai helping me at home, life felt almost perfect. Ruby was more determined than ever to pursue her dreams of becoming an idol like me, pouring her heart into every practice. Aqua, on the other hand, had his own path. Although he wasn’t interested in acting, he approached me one day with a request that surprised me: he wanted to train with Kai.

At first, I was skeptical. Aqua had always been more reserved, preferring to stay in the background rather than step into the spotlight. But Kai assured me that Aqua could learn to protect us if he wasn’t around. After some deliberation, I agreed—but only if Aqua would also commit to pursuing acting. He hesitated at first, but eventually agreed.

Now, life was relatively quiet. I continued my idol career, and Kai drove me to my rehearsals every day. His presence had become a comforting constant in my life, and I found myself looking forward to our time together.
"So, a live concert?" Kai asked as we navigated through the bustling streets toward the agency.

"Hmh! President Saitou informed me about it a week ago. Today is our last practice before tomorrow at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Shibuya," I replied excitedly. I glanced over at him; he was wearing his usual outfit again—an ensemble he seemed to favor—and it made me smile. There was something endearing about that outfit.
