Kelly PoV
Thomas's suspension was finally up. These two weeks were chaos. We dropped Kiara to kindergarten so we were now on the way to Thomas's school. Thomas was quite fidgety and hyper this morning
Kelly: Thomas you take your meds?
Thomas: yep you watched me
Kelly: oh yeah. In the meeting you have to be calm okay even if they say something you don't like.
Thomas: but
Kelly: No buts okay.
Thomas: I'll try
Kelly: if you feel yourself getting wound up go outside okay
Thomas: okay
We arrived at the school and we walked to the reception desk
Kelly: excuse me we have a meeting with Mr Richards
Lady: yep just go straight through
Kelly: thank you
I opened the door and there were two teachers sat already so me and Thomas sat opposite them.
Mr Richards: thank you for coming in today. As you know Thomas has been suspended for the past 2 weeks due to an incident. Mr Mead has received your apology and has accepted it however he doesn't want you back in the classroom for a while.
Thomas: I don't wanna be in his lesson anyways. He's a shit teacher
Kelly: that's enough Thomas. Is there a reason?
Mr Richards: when Thomas is in the class he's really disruptive and gets violent with his classmates. He's severely disrupting the learning of his peers. We've received multiple complaints from parents about their children not learning in lessons
Kelly: oh I'm sorry for that
Mr Richards: okay so we haven't really seen any improvement from the last meeting and based on his situation it was understandable. His behaviour is worse and teachers are finding it difficult to handle it. He doesn't respond to consequences and this pent up anger. He explodes over the most inconvenient things.
Miss Jackson: I've created a behaviour plan. This will focus on behaviour techniques and management
Thomas was squirming in his seat and tapping his fingers on his leg. I put my hand on top of his and he stopped
Thomas: sorry
Kelly: it's okay
Thomas: Miss do you have anymore of the toys?
Miss Jackson: which one?
Thomas: the stretchy one
She gave him the toy and it kept him focused for a bit until he started hitting me with it
Kelly: Thomas
He stopped and started playing with it

Kelly: I though we already did that?
Miss Jackson: that plan is his education one. This includes accommodations for exams, lessons, projects and quizzes. The behaviour plan is well for his behaviour

Solutions
- give a whiteboard so he can write answers and hold it up
- use incentives to encourage positive behaviour
- remove him from situations that will cause him to lash out
- encourage him when he gives up

Continue with the time out pass and encourage Thomas to use it.
Continue the weekly sessions with Miss Jackson. Anger management increased to once a week. Behaviour report escalated to head teacher (red report). Teaching assistant will support Thomas in lessons.

We'll review after 6 weeks

Kelly: this sounds good. What do you think Tommy
Thomas: yeah whatever
Mr Richards: we hope that with this plan we'll see some improvement. Every week we'll send a report home to reflect on how the weeks been. If there's no improvement within the 6 weeks, we'll have to question whether this school is right for him.
Kelly: can he start back today?
Mr Richards: he can but he'll be spending the day in Inclusion where he'll be completing his work with Miss Jackson. The plan will be sent to his teachers today so they can adjust the lessons and know how to help. He'll only be in until 12:30 when he can then go home
Kelly: that's only 2 hours
Thomas: can't I just go home?
Mr Richards: sure it's up to you
Kelly: I'll just take him home
Mr Richards: we'll see you tomorrow Thomas
Thomas: okay
Me and Thomas left the office and walked over to the car. I started driving. We were driving in silence until Thomas decided to start talking
Thomas: what if they get out?
Kelly: who?
Thomas: mom and Michael
Kelly: I'm not gonna promise that they won't but there's a lot of evidence to back up
Thomas: what if they escape and come back to hurt me?
Kelly: they are in maximum security cause Hank told them they're likely to escape.
Thomas: okay
Kelly: I don't want you to worry
Thomas: would I have to testify?
Kelly: I'm not sure.
Thomas: I don't want to do it
Kelly: that's fine. No one's gonna make you do something you don't want to do
Thomas: can we go and visit Jay?
Kelly: he's working
Thomas: just for 5 minutes please
Kelly: okay but no distracting them from their work
I drove to the district and Trudy let us up.
Jay: look who's here
Thomas went and sat next to Jay
Hank: Kelly can I have a word?
I went into his office and Vanessa was there
Kelly: this isn't good is it?
Hank: they've been released on bail
Kelly: what?!
Hank: insufficient evidence
Kelly: them putting him into hospital isn't enough
Hank: the kids are gonna be picked up from one of us everyday.
Kelly: they're gonna have to testify aren't they?
Hank: It will really help the case if they do. They're saying that Thomas is lying and used his fights at school
Kelly: this is bullshit
I walked out the office slamming the door. I went out into the bullpen and Thomas was laid on the floor on his side
Kelly: fuck sake
Jay: what was that about?
Kelly: nothing
Thomas started coming around and sat up.
Thomas: g-go
I picked him up and carried him out to the car. I laid him across the back seats and drove him home.
Thomas: 'm sorry
Kelly: it's okay. There's nothing to be sorry about
We arrived home and there was a police car outside. I carried Thomas in because he had fallen asleep. I took him to his bed and then went downstairs.
Shay: what's going on? Why's there police outside?
Kelly: Zara and Michael have been released on bail cause of insufficient evidence
Shay: insufficient evidence? How?
Kelly: I don't even know. Some one from the district will take the kids to and from school
Shay: does Thomas know?
Kelly: no after I spoke to Hank I went out and he was on the floor
Shay: you need to tell him
Kelly: I know.
I sat on the sofa with my head in my hands
Kelly: I told him not to worry
Shay: it will work out
Me and Shay were sitting on the sofa watching tv
Thomas: Kelly
Kelly: what's up bud?
Thomas: I don't feel well
Kelly: what's going on?
Thomas: my head hurts and I feel dizzy
Kelly: when did this start?
Thomas: this morning but it didn't feel that bad
Kelly: you should have said something bud.
Shay: how about we get you some medicine?
Thomas: mhm
Shay went and came back with some Tylenol giving some to Thomas.
Thomas: can we watch a film?
Kelly: sure
We watched one and he finally fell asleep
Shay: you want me to get Kiara?
Kelly: Jays gonna get her
Shay: okay
After about an hour Jay walked in with Kiara
Kelly: hey munchkin did you have a good day?
Kiara: yeah we play soccer in pe. JayJay pick me up today
Kelly: was it a nice suprise?
Kiara: mhm I love JayJay
She gave him a hug and Jay picked her up
Jay: where's Thomas?
Kelly: sleeping
Jay: does he know?
Kelly: not yet
Jay: tomorrow someone will be here to pick them up. What time does he finish tomorrow?
Kelly: 12:30. He has quite a short day tomorrow
Jay: I'll see you guys tomorrow
