The couple walked in the house, thankful not to see the other two in sight. Beomgyu showed Kai to his room. He watched his fiance look around in awe at the space. "You like it? I can redecorate it to match something closer to your style."
"No. It's perfect. I just can't believe your bedroom is bigger than my entire apartment."
Beomgyu sat the bags down on the floor. "Yeah well... I was happier in that apartment than I ever was here."
Kai saw him unpacking. He gently took the stuff out of his hands and began to kiss him instead. "I think we need to break the room in. Don't you?"
Yeonjun said from the door "trust me. That room has been broken in plenty. You're better off burning it down."
The couple turned to glare at him. Neither of them appreciated that comment. Beomgyu asked "what do you want?"
"Just letting you know breakfast is ready."
They watched the older leave. Kai gave his fiance a quick deep kiss then followed the oldest out. Beomgyu trailed behind to make sure his cousin kept his hands to himself.
The heir thought it was adorable to watch Kai look around the dining room in awe. He stopped every few feet to look at the paintings on the walls. All gothic and expensive of course. Kai asked "why is your dining room table so large if there's only three of you?"
"It's very rare but sometimes the entire Choi clan gets together and we host it."
Soobin walked in and interrupted "yes like for a wedding for example."
The messenger asked "right..." He shot a concerned look to his fiance. The idea of hanging around a hundred Yeonjuns and Soobins made him want to run out of instinct. One of each other was bad enough. He didn't need a hundred flirting with him or trying to control him.
Beomgyu sat down at the table and motioned for Kai to sit next to him. Breakfast was lemon ricotta pancakes with a blueberry syrup and maple chili bacon. It's something the heir normally would have loved until he saw his fiance not eating at all. He whispered "what's wrong?"
"Nothing." Kai began eating after. He was depressed for a moment. The Huenings used to make something similar for him. The first time he tried a stack of pancakes was life changing. His mom then went on a mission to make a many flavors as she could. The cupcake ones with whipped cream were always his favorite. These lemon ones were delicious but he refused to let it show on his face. His guard was very much still up with the other two heirs around.
Soobin stated "now the issue is obviously your wanted status Kai."
Kai continued to eat without looking up. There wasn't anything the heir could tell him that he didn't already know.
Soobin continued "if we bribe the right people, we could get you off of it so you guys can get married. That would also mean you would have to lay low for a while."
Beomgyu looked at Kai with heavy anticipation.
The messenger knew he was engaged but the weight of the ring finally hit. Now he had to ask himself how much he wanted to marry Beomgyu. "What's the catch?"
Yeonjun asked "what do you mean?"
"I mean, you told Beomgyu you wanted him dead and you were hitting on me earlier. This seems a bit out of character for both of you."
Soobin slammed his fork down. "There isn't a catch. We just have accepted you're going to be in our lives. Clearly, you haven't thought the same. Did that not occur to you when you said yes?"
"I said yes to him. Not to you!"
Beomgyu pleaded "Kai... they're my family..."
"They cut you off from your own money! They hit on me how many times? They drove us apart! That's not what family does!"
Yeonjun spat "we at least never abandoned him!"
That was the last straw for Kai. He got up and walked away holding back tears.
Beomgyu yelled "Kai! Wait!" He turned to Yeonjun. The youngest heir glared hard at the person who was supposed to be his biggest mentor in life. He said "I wish you had abandoned me" with anger in his voice. He then ran towards his bedroom to find his fiance.
Soobin stood up so quickly he knocked his chair 2 feet backwards. "GO APOLOGIZE. I'M NOT LOSING MY COUSIN BECAUSE OF YOU!"
Kai sat down on the window sill. He refused to cry. That would be like admitting Yeonjun got to him. He tilted his head back until the water slipped back inside his body.
Beomgyu didn't say anything. He just wrapped his arms around his fiance and held him tightly. After a couple of minutes, he saw Kai turn his head towards him to kiss him. They softly embraced each other. No one understood him better than his fiance did and he knew Kai felt the same way. He lightly pressed his forehead against his and apologized for his family.
Yeonjun stood in the doorway. He didn't say anything. He just watched them hold each other. It was clear they were very deeply in love.
Kai looked up to see the oldest looking at them from afar. "What do you want?"
Yeonjun walked in then sat on the bed. "To apologize. Again."
"Save it."
Beomgyu pleaded with his eyes to allow his cousin to talk. Kai rolled his then nodded.
Yeonjun continued. "You're apart of this family now. You may hate us but I will protect you like I protect him. We won't abandon you. You have my word and you have Soobin's as well."
"I'll accept that as long as you accept that neither of you control me."
The eldest smiled. "Just Beomgyu. Right?"
Kai allowed himself the faintest smile on the corner of his lips.
Before Yeonjun left, he gave Kai a letter and a set of instructions. He then gave him a credit card to the family account. His delivery rewards would be deposited into his own that Soobin set up for him. It already had $10 million in it. The two oldest Chois may be terrible with words but their actions spoke love. They meant it when they said Kai was already considered to be family. That started the day they saw the rings.
Beomgyu shut the door behind his cousin. He sat down next to his fiance so they could have a serious conversation. "So do you actually want to marry me or did you only say yes for the ring?"
Kai looked at him with sincerity. "I do want to marry you."
"You won't be able to deliver for a while if we take you off of the wanted list."
"How did you do it? Just stay here... locked away."
"You already know..."
"Right..."
Beomgyu put his hands on his shoulders. "I can't change anything I did. But if I knew you back then, I can honestly say I wouldn't have made those mistakes. You're my world perfection. I promise that my time with you has been the most satisfying of my life. Not just the sex but every other part as well. Do you believe me?"
"I do." Kai really did understand. "So... I guess we have a wedding to plan."
"Really? You're sure about this? Even with my batshit crazy family?"
"If you promise we can live in the apartment afterwards then yes."
Beomgyu jumped into his lap then kissed him. "I can't wait to marry you!"
Kai picked him up then threw him on the bed. He took a second to stare at his fiance's face. Sexy. He looked down to the front of his pants and began to slip his fingers inside. "I know exactly how I want to celebrate too."
