Kai had his hood up and mask on while sitting on the edge of a rooftop. It overlooked the police station while he mapped out where to go. He noted where all of the security cameras were. He noted the patterns of pedestrians walking by it. Lastly, he saw a fairly young officer hangout by the trashes every half hour. That must be who the letter is for.

While continuing to observe, he saw every person who threw some trash away had to go food in their hands. That's what he needed to blend in.

He looked around for some restaurants. There was a popular coffee shop down the street. Perfect.

Kai took the elevator down from the apartment building he snuck into. He was careful to not show his face in any of the security cameras.

The coffee shop was crowded. Even better. He stole someone's mobile order, that was just sitting on the counter, and walked away. No one there had realized what he did until it was too late.

In one hand, he held the drink and the bag with a scone inside. The other fished for the letter. He subtly placed the letter in the bag then transferred the drink to his free hand. In one smooth motion, the bag was dropped into the trash at the back of the police station.

Kai went back into the underground garage of the apartment building and waited. A tenant came out so he slipped into the elevator.

He sat back on the edge of the rooftop and took a photo of the brand on his drink as well as a close up of the trashcan.

10 minutes later, the young officer came out. He pretended to change the trashes as he dug through. Once he got his object, he texted a pickup time to Kai's cellphone. The messege and the contact deleted itself after 5 minutes. Pickup was in 8 hours. Presumably after his shift was over. It would be dark which made it even easier for Kai. The new letter was going to be taped to the inside of the trashcan between the bag and the actual can.

Now he had about 8 hours to kill. Pick pocketing didn't seem like such a bad idea. He walked the streets and pretended to bump into people who were glued to their phones. While he apologized when they picked up their dropped devices, he would palm a watch, bracelet or earphones.

In another neighborhood, a mile away, it was the reverse. He pretended to be on an important call then have some pedestrian bump into him. The same trick would be played as they helped him recover his phone. The stuff he took, in his experience, was stuff people didn't report to the police. They would just call it a loss and buy a replacement.

His last trick was walking into a flower shop and stealing two 24 count bouquets of roses. They all got unwrapped then he stood outside of a bookstore selling them individually. His charm had them sold at $5 a flower, in less than two hours. A kind customer told him where he nearest pawn shop was so off he went.

He sold his stolen goods and made an extra $300. Now he had almost $600 in cash. Not bad for a days work.

Kai went over to the outdoor mall side of the city. He ate a cheap sandwich and bought a large bottle of water with his earnings. Once those were finished off, he began to scope the department stores.

One employee began to flirt with him so he used that to get into the backroom. He claimed he was looking for a specific shoe in a different color. She led the way. Kai answered her boring personal questions while lying. There was mostly teenagers and really old folk back here. Easy people to manipulate or sneak around. As he continued to observe the backroom, his next heist was set. That could be done on a different day though.

The employee apologized for not having the shoes in his color. He assured her it was fine then they went onto the main floor. Before she could ask him out, he faked a call and walked off.
