Soobin was right

Kai, surprisingly, woke up before Beomgyu. The heir was laying on his back with his face turned towards his shoulder. Now that he had a taste of what sex was like, he wanted to do it again.

He carefully slipped down into the sheets and began sucking the heir off.

Beomgyu's eyes popped open. He was not expecting to wake up to see his messenger deep throating him. Once he was conscious, he began to feel everything that was being done to him. He laid back down with a handful of Kai's hair. His hips thrusted upwards while his hand pushed his messenger's head down. He wanted to see how much he could take.

Kai took it all. He loved the challenge. His tounge made sure to tease the side of the shaft every time his head moved downwards.

It did not take long for Beomgyu to cum. Kai loved it. The heir may control the city but the messenger controlled the heir.

He pulled off then left to wash his mouth out. Beomgyu hugged him from behind as he began to brush his teeth too. Kai got filthy promises whispered into his ear. The heir loved to talk. He told his lover everything he planned on doing to him tonight. Being choked earlier excited the hell out of him. It gave him hope that Kai was willing to be a bit... experimental. There wasn't a better person, in his mind, to experiment with. Not only that, he wanted to know what the other wanted to do to HIM. Surely he's had some fantasies right? That was the first time Beomgyu cared about someone else's fantasies instead of his own.

Kai grabbed his phone when he heard a text. Soobin wanted him for a job and Taehyun wanted to take him to breakfast. He got changed into a dark blue camo hoodie and black track pants.

Beomgyu asked "Soobin or Yeonjun?"

"Soobin. Breakfast with Taehyun first."

That was the answer he was hoping for. He saw the way his oldest cousin looked at his... wait. They didn't exactly establish a relationship. "Are we dating Kai?"

"Are you fucking other people?"

He wasn't but now Beomgyu wanted to fuck that attitude out right of him. "No. And I don't want to. I want you. I love you perfection."

Truthfully, Kai didn't want to put a label on their relationship. The idea of committing to someone made him want to leave again. He also knew Beomgyu wouldn't drop the subject if he ignored it so he said "sure. We can be dating."

The heir jumped into his arms and attacked him with kisses. Kai stumbled to the back wall just trying to balance himself. Beomgyu pulled away with a giant grin on his face. "Yay! Now that means if something is bothering you, you have to tell me! No more running away! Got it? I'll chase you every time but we don't need to continue to do that. Just talk to me baby. I don't-"

Kai kissed him again to make him shut up. He wanted to be annoyed by the rants his heir went on but he actually found it cute. When he pulled away, he stared longingly into those beautiful almond eyes. "I'll try okay? It's just a habit I've picked up."

Still with a grin on his face, Beomgyu cutely said "okay..."

Kai left to meet Taehyun in the cab. He expected his boss to say something but he didn't. The ride was silent on the way to the cafe.

After they got their food, Taehyun finally said what he had been thinking. "Thank you for coming back." Kai didn't speak. He drank some of his coffee instead. "You should really consider buying each other gags. I'm replacing your door today with a thicker one."

Kai only smiled while biting into his quiche. "What does Soobin want from me?"

"I don't know actually. He gives the least amount of details out of all the Chois. His deliveries are also the simplest. I usually give myself his assignments but today he specifically wanted you."

"Great."

Taehyun finished off his yogurt bowl and his coffee. "You got a new place didn't you?" Kai didn't speak. His boss already knew the answer. "Are you going back?"

"If my life is threatened, yes. You said to me that you don't kill your messengers. Have they?"

Taehyun sat silently for a few moments. Kai finished eating, waiting for an answer. Taehyun bought himself a coffee to go then sat back down. "Beomgyu told you about the accident?"

"Yeah."

His boss explained that was the only accident. When he first started out, he wasn't careful about who he hired. Those messengers got careless. They opened letters to see what was inside. Stole packages then replaced them with fakes. The Chois knew everything so they disposed of their liabilities. Taehyun was always smart enough to not pull that shit. His screening process got better as time went on. The number of messengers who were murdered by the Chois, decreased year after year. Instead they found ways to get themselves killed by cops or other criminals.

Taehyun threw their trash away then ordered a cab to Union Square. Kai went inside the gate and was led by Beomgyu to Soobin's office.

Soobin told him to close the door behind him. He motioned for Kai to sit down on the plush red chair. The messenger insisted on standing. "Fine. I just wanted to show you something anyways."

The heir got up and told Kai to follow him. They went downstairs to the basement.

Kai smelled the faint aroma of bleach. He then saw a man chained up in a cell.

Soobin asked "do you know who that is?"

He looked familiar but he didn't remember where he saw him before. "No."

"You're about to see what happens when a messenger crosses us."

Beomgyu came out. He looked terrified at Kai with a dagger at his side. Yeonjun stood behind him.

Kai protested and looked directly at his heir. "Wait. You don't have to do this. I get it. I've always gotten it. Please stop."
He went to walk towards him but Soobin pulled him back. There wasn't any use trying to fight him. He would just end up in prison with that other messenger.

Beomgyu mouthed "I'm sorry" then went into the cell.

Kai turned his head and closed his eyes. He heard the man begging for his life. Yeonjun taunted the guy. Then he heard deafening screaming. It made his entire body cringe. He wanted to leave but Soobin kept a strong grip on his wrist. More screaming followed. He then smelled urine and blood.

The worst part was when Kai opened his eyes. It wasn't the skinned man that made his body go cold. It was the look on Beomgyu's face. That look was almost... satisfaction. Soobin looked at Kai and got what he wanted. The messenger was terrified learning Soobin was right. The heir gripping his wrist, slipped him some cash then let go.

Kai ran. He heard Beomgyu yell "WAIT! KAI! STOP!" He heard footsteps following him behind. It just made him run faster. He ran the 8 miles to Rynelda and never looked back. Once he got to the edge of town, Kai puked on the side of the road. He was disgusted at Beomgyu but mostly at himself. That's what he gets for loving people. Being attached was a sick mentality. He was never going to make that mistake again.

Taehyun began calling him. Normally he wouldn't answer but his boss was the only person in that city he didn't hate. "Hi. I'm done. I'm not coming back."

"What happened? I'm sure-"

Kai hung up. He threw the phone as far as he could then walked into town. There was still a large pile of cash sitting in his apartment. He picked up a small stack then went to buy a mattress, bedding, a couple of towels, toilettries, donation store clothes and a small TV. The big stuff was set to be delivered in the afternoon.

He went to grab food next since he vomited his entire breakfast. A local coffee shop piqued his interest.

Kai spent the rest of the day walking around, memorizing the layout of the city. The night was spent putting his apartment together. He realized he didn't have a phone to set up wifi or electricity for that matter so he slept in the cold apartment on his new mattress. He was never going back and this time, he meant it.
