"Hey," Kirishima placed his hand on his shoulder. "I get that you guys but.." he paused before finally saying your name. "I made a call."

Bakugo nodded although he hadn't really heard what the other man had said. He did register your name though. "Damn it Kiri, Hawks called he wants to pull us out."

"What?" His eyebrows were so close together you'd think they were just one unit. "Why?"

"Because of the girls!" More thunder, this time accompanied by a flash of lightning.

"I didn't think of that." Bakugo yanked the apartment door open, "hey where are you going? You're still in the random shit you changed back into." He shouted yet Bakugo was already half way down the hall. He was running down the steps, out the door and into the streets. The rain was ice cold, which was odd since today had been such a hot day. He felt turned around, where was your apartment again? Shit was it left or right? Or was he supposed to go straight forward? Fuck it he'll go which ever way.

What was funny was as soon as you had gotten Kirishima's call you had done the exact same thing. You had grabbed a random coat and thrown it on while you were running down the stairs. Unlike Bakugo however you had actually remembered which way his apartment was. Damn maybe you should have changed your shoes before leaving. There were lots of holes in the ground from poor care, and some of the street lights had yet to turn back on from the night before. Your entire body burned, your lungs, eyes and legs. Even your nostrils burned! Still you kept on pushing through the rain, Kirishima seemed so shaken, he sounded so worried. And Bakugo, fuck you needed to apologize to him.

You turned another corner and to your surprise there he was. You could barely see him, having to squint and keep the rain out of your eyes. "Katsuki," you ran at him. The rain felt like needles against your skin, and your dress was so tight it was hard for you to really move your legs. Your hair and your jacket were soaked from running in the rain. Your feet throbbed from the shoes you had on and whenever you stepped in a puddle the water would splash up at your ankles. You were stumbling now your damn shoe getting stuck in a pothole. He lunged towards you catching you just before you could fall to the filthy ground below. Your cuban heel broke off, and your shoes had slipped off your feet. But it didn't matter, you weren't touching the ground anymore.

Rain weighed down his hair and soaked his back. His muscles were firm around you and his usually warm body felt oddly cold. "The hell are you doing out here?" He growled at you, his head buried in your neck. One hand held onto the back of your head, while the other held your lower back. "You're gonna get sick," he pulled you closer to him.

"I came looking for you, Kiri called me." You pushed his bangs out of his face, "are you okay?" A gust of wind ruffled your clothes, your bodies shivered yet neither of you moved. Your arms remained wrapped around his shoulders and his around your back. "Bakugo-"

"I can't keep you safe," his icy lips were speaking against your collar. The wind had picked up and didn't seem like it was going to calm anytime soon, forcing the both of you to speak louder.

"Let me apologize first, I'm sorry about earlier you were right. You were right. And who cares if you can't keep me safe, I can take care of myself." You looked down at him, his lips still pressed against your flesh. Lightning flashed in the background.

"But it's my job to be there when you can't."

"And vice versa," you wiped away the rain on his face. Thunder rolled past shaking the very ground. "Katsuki you're gonna burn yourself out, you can't keep me safe if there's none of you left."

"I can't keep you safe now damn it," he shook his head. His back was hunched awkwardly so that he could bow his head to your neck, his arms raised to keep your bare feet off the ground. "I can protect you from those thugs, I won't stop until those bastards are behind bars. But-" he growled. You brought your hands to his face lifting it up so that he was at eye level. "But dammit I can't save you from the cops. And fuck I think I'd break the law for you. I'd become just as crooked and twisted as everything I despise in this world if that would mean keeping you safe."

"Katsuki it's ok if I go to jail. I made my decision, I knew the consequences. You're a good man, don't go risking yourself for me." You had a thought then, a very bright thought. "I couldn't say it earlier- and you were right we have no other time then now so Katsuki I think I might be in love with you." You brought his face closer so that your lips brushed against his. "I think I might be in love with you." If even possible the rain came down harder, wind howling against the buildings that lined the road.

"I think I might be in love with you too." He leaned in, both of your eyes falling shut. Your bodies melted together and just as your lips touched, lightning striked.
