"Why," he asked.

You sighed, fuck you'd have to start explaining shit now wouldn't you? "Why'd you go undercover?"

The hell did that have anything to do with the conversation? He lifted his head from the hiding hole, looking at you oddly.

"I'm going somewhere with this I swear." You assured him, withdrawing a hand from his back so that you could clean his face.

"To be the best, to climb the ranks."

"Ok well I ended up at the club because I was trying to be the best."

His face scrunched up, that sentence being the most contradicting thing he's ever heard. You found it funny how he acted like a child. He really was just a big baby.

"The town I used to live in was rotten, it was over run by gangs and mafia, it was just a mess."

"You grew up there?"

You nodded at him, "yup. Seven year old me had two amazing parents who were running a little late on rent because the gangsters had suddenly changed the date. They showed up early knocking at our door and demanding money. Of course parents plan to have all the pieces fall in place by a certain time so when they came knocking we had nothing to give." You hesitated, fuck. "Sorry," it was your turn to cry now. "The first and last time I spoke about this was with Mina."

Bakugo made a mental note to give that woman something for being there for you. He owed her a lot.

"So they drag them out to the backyard while their seven year old daughter runs to the floor above their little corner store. She hides under the bed in her parents room, clinging onto the bottom of the bed frame. Two bullets.." He kisses you behind the ear. "Their fire starter finds me next thing I know I'm eighteen and chasing after a freight train."

"Eleven years?"

"Stuck in the off position? Yeah. This one's got two personalities, this one likes to snap and burn shit, this one likes breaking things, this one can't wait to cut you 'cause she likes the taste. I obeyed because I had no clue when they were going to drag me out to the back and put a bullet through my brain." You took steadying breaths. "It just seems like a night for crying," you laughed, swiping roughly at your eyes. "So I hit eighteen jumped onto a train and whizzed straight out of there, I passed through town after town only getting off when I arrived here."

"Why?"

"It just felt right," you shrugged looking him in the eyes. "It pulled at my heart drawing me in," another slight laugh from you. "Guess the city wasn't the only alluring thing."

He rolled his eyes, how were you making jokes about this? The hell was wrong with you. "How'd you end up in that dump?"

"Singing on the street. This man comes up to me saying I have the voice of a dove and well when you've been a flightless bird all your life, you take any chance to spread your wings. Freedom is for the rich and Katsuki I was dirt poor. So when he offers me a job, I picked up my empty suitcase and followed. I had nothing. I had whatever change people threw at me, which was mostly followed by the words strip, like I was some kind of prostitute."

That struck a nerve, multiple actually. "Where those the thugs then," Hawks question was clearly still playing in his head.

"I don't know how they found me."

He's take that as a yes. "And your roommate? Mina?"

You giggled, "are you interrogating me?"

He flustered, "I-" He hadn't meant to? Was it really coming off that way? Shit. Damn. Fuck. He hadn't meant to.

You were still laughing, and he thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. The moonlight bathed your body, which was still trapped under him. You were wearing his clothes, that only dwarfed you. The skin at the corner of your eyes crinkled with laughter, tear stains glistening on the surface of your soft face. Your hair was still kind of drying making it nice and cool yet he'd still burry his face in it again. "I'm just messing with you," you beamed at him. He snarled, nipping lightly at your cheek. "Katsuki," you squealed and he kissed where he had just bit you.

"You should marry me," he blurted.

"Not now, it'll mess with your job."

"You're already messing with my job," he bit your neck this time. Your back arched with the way his teeth sunk into your skin.

"Bakugo-" He bit you harder, a sound escaping you. That was new, you had never done that before. "Bakugo," again he tried to bite you. "No, wait." You put your hands against his chest pushing him back slightly. "I don't wanna-"

"What?"

You tried to be more firm this time, "I like talking."

"Ok," he laid back down kissing the mark he left on your neck. Eleven years, you didn't leave till you were eighteen unless they touched you you had no experience with... "We'll take it slow," very slow he thought. Now that he knew, everything had to be perfect. He was gonna make it so that it was absolutely perfect. "So Mina?"

"Oh yeah, I thought she was really pretty. She was always busy at her vanity, and the crowd loved her shows. I honestly thought she was scary at first but that was only because I hadn't seen her smile yet."

He grunted in response.

"Yeah," you yawned.

"You wanna go to bed?" It was past his bedtime anyways. Bakugo rolled over so that you both were lying face to face on your side.

"I love you," you whispered to him.

"I love you too, dumbass." He kissed you softly on the forehead, his poor teddy bear bursting at the seems and stitched together from tears. No one to take care of you.
