"Thank you for coming," Kirishima smiled at the old woman currently standing just outside the doorway. The young man using his large body to block the doctor's view into the apartment; protective and precautious.
The doctor sighed bringing his hand to the inside of his trench coat. "'Fraid you're gonna have to let me in if you want my help darling." She flashes him both a smile and her verifying ID.
"Right," he smiles nervously and steps aside.
Her pink boot are slick with rain and squeak as she enters. Her large glasses are rectangular with a purple frame and thin lenses. Her white trench coat just barely misses the floor, yet remains clean as if there was no rainstorm outside. The silver belt she wears wraps around her squishy body, white cane held tightly in her stubby hand. You squinted at it finding the carved wood looking similar to a needle. That couldn't have been right though, too much attention to detail perhaps. "Oh dear," she looked around the room noticing the three of you. "You all look so pale," the older woman reaches up to touch your face. However she's so close to the floor that her hand just barely stretches to your elbow.
"I'm fine, Ma'am, really. My friend called you about him and the others." You smile at her, gently moving her hand from your elbow.
"Yes about that," she looked at Kirishima over her shoulder. "You seemed quit distressed over the phone but wouldn't specify anything at all." She huffs slowly easing herself onto the couch. "What in the heavens is going on here?"
"Well," you speak up. "My boyfriend here seems to be having a fever," you pull Bakugo in front of you.
"Routine check up, and medication." She waved him off.
"It might be more than just that," you put your hands on your hips.
"Then say that, stop beating around the bush."
"Can you get mina?" You turned to Kirishima your glare startling him.
"Y-yeah, no problem." He quickly scurried off to retrieve her.
"We were struck by lightning, the ground shook beneath us and we were electrified."
"It can't be, you're still standing." The older woman quickly jumped to her legs, wobbling slightly in the knees.
Kirishima then entered back into the room, Mina doing her best to hide behind him. "We're all still alive and well, but I think it's at a heavy cost." You said nodding to Mina who stepped out behind Kiri. She stared down at the floor in shame, eyes squeezing shut with pain upon hearing the old woman gasp.
"Oh dear," the woman nearly fainted both boys grabbing her just before she hit the floor. "Oh me, oh my," she shook her head solemnly. Kirishima carefully placed her back on the couch Bakugo keeping close just in case. "Pink. Pink, pink, you've gone pink." She looked back up at all of you, calculating optics bouncing from face to face.
Mina nearly folded in on herself, shame and embarrassment making her want to disappear. Her rolled forward and sagged down like skinny branches weighted by rain. Kirishima's smile jutted out in so many places, it screamed anxiety and his bouncy eyes kept checking on everyone. Then there was Katsuki who looked so fuking stiff you just wanted to help him unwind. He broke down last night only to build him self back in quick hast. He was bound to crumble. Finally there was you. Hands on your hips similar to how your boyfriend had crossed his arms. Vulnerability left you weak, it left you open. You were giving this old lady a shot, but a hair out of line and this place would become fort knox.
"You must not tell anyone," she grabbed firmly at Kirishima's hand. "No one at all must know," her other hand grabbed Bakugo's bicep. "Keep safe," she looked at you. "Avoid contact," then Mina. "Man fears what he does not understand and... you kids will be dissected like frogs." Tears leaked from her eyes, wetting the creases in her crow's feet. "For now on all home appointments will be at night." She was speaking quickly, still meeting our gazes to make sure we understood. "I'll come after work hours and expect me out of uniform."
"Is it that big of a deal," Kiri seemed petrified.
"Your lives are on the line if that is not tremendous to you than clearly I should speak to the adults." She looked at you and Bakugo then. "I might need to leave supplies here, carry less, need to be as inconspicuous as possible."
"We'll make room for it," Katsuki replied.
"I'll make all the calls from my place," you then added on.
"Great." She rose slowly from her spot using Bakugo's arm to help her. "If anything gets worse, find me." Kirishima hands her the cane as she passes you her card.
"Thank you," you smile at her. She hobbles over to her bag, opening it and reaching in. Her arm vanishes completely, shoulder deep before she finds what she needs. "Medicine for the boy with a fever, and this," she holds up a vile. It sparkles under the light. "For the one with discoloration."
"Thank you," you all speak in unison. Kirishima bellows it, Mina mumbles, Katsuki grumbles and you manage to speak calmly.
"Thank you." It's the last thing you say to the old woman, walking her to the door before quietly shutting it behind her.
