As they stood in the doorway, Rei and Y/N scanned the living room and found it just how they all left it last night during their little party with Kazuki. Empty chip bags lay on the coffee table, things were discarded all over the floor, and glasses and bottles were scattered here and there.

It was unusually quiet, hinting that the other two inhabitants were still not home, otherwise, it's likely Kazuki would've cleaned the place up. Can't have Miri getting any bad habits.

'Strange... where are they?' they both thought to themselves.

Rhythmic sounds of water dripped from both of the assassin's clothes and onto the tiled floor, forming small puddles in the hallway and reminding them just how drenched they really were. Rei and Y/N both disliked the way that the cold wet fabric clung to their skin, and they wanted nothing more than to change into some fresh clothes.

"I wonder what Kazuki and Miri are doing?" Y/N wondered aloud, unsurprised when she didn't receive a reply from the dark haired male beside her. With effort she awkwardly tugged off her drenched shoes and socks, leaving her feet to rest on the cold floor now covered in water.

She watched Rei pull off his jacket and disappear into the laundry room, so she proceeded to the messy living area and whipped out her phone. Y/N sighed, there were still no messages from Kazuki.

Soon after, Rei returned and made his way over to the girl, noticing the slightly furrowed brows and pursed lips. He could only guess that she was spamming Kazuki with text messages, after all, he had done the same earlier but was also left with no reply.

While Y/N was engaged with her phone, Rei's cloudy blue eyes settled themselves on her cardigan hanging limply over her arm as she texted. His eyes then drifted up her pale arms before finally landing on her exposed shoulders. He could see the small droplets of water that rested upon them, left by her wet hair that lightly stuck to her face. She must've been freezing wearing that little white dress.

"That damn Kazuki", Y/N scoffed.

At the moment of her voice, Rei pulled his gaze away.

"Have you heard anything?" she asked, switching her attention to him. It wasn't like Kazuki to leave them in the dark like this, especially not two paranoid assassins. For all they know, Miri has been kidnapped and Kazuki was lying in a ditch somewhere.

Rei scratched the back of his neck, looking at anywhere but her. "No... But it's possible his phone is dead. I doubt any of us remembered to charge them last night".

Y/N looked at her own battery percentage and noticed how close to death it was. She made a mental note to borrow one of the boys' chargers later. Before she could ponder her blonde friend's whereabouts any further, a towel was suddenly held out in front of her. Rei had taken it upon himself to get them something to dry off with from the laundry room. In the grasp of his other hand was an extra towel for himself.

"Here..", he muttered, and Y/N gratefully took it, placing down her phone to wrap the soft white towel around her shoulders. She smiled in delight at the warmth it provided.

"Thanks. I guess I should change out of these clothes now, huh. Kazuki will probably throw a fit if we drag any more water through the house", said Y/N with a chuckle. Rei only hummed in agreement as she swept past him to the laundry room, the place where she kept her spare clothes. Instead of focusing on the sweet scent of vanilla as she passed, the male assassin shook away the thought and imagined his partner's annoyed face upon seeing the water everywhere.

He decided to leave the leaning up until later though.

Looking out through the large glass windows of his apartment, Rei slung his own towel around his upper body and watched the rain pelter down on the city below. It was bleak but also calming. Often he would use the rain as an excuse against Kazuki to stay inside and play videogames, but that only worked half the time, even less now that Miri was in the picture. His little moment alone didn't last very long though.
