"Did you complete your mechanics assignment?" Minghao asked his friend. Taking a seat next to him on the table.
"Nope. I was busy crying about my messed up life." Joshua smiled enthusiastically, sarcasm dripping off his behaviour. Picking his head up from the table.
"Figured."
"How about you? How's your art assignment coming along? Renaissance was it?" Joshua asked looking over at his friend with curious eyes. He had always been a sucker for art. Although he couldn't pursue it due to his love for space as well. He was intrigued by both but his parents deemed it better he kept art as a hobby and physics as a career.
"I have no idea. I went to the library to find some references but nothing caught my eye. I've been going through art block lately, can you help me out?" Minghao asked, he knew Joshua would jump at the opportunity of anything related to art.
"Of course! I'll come over to the art room after my classess!" He smiled.
"So, what's your plan for today? Going to visit the observatory?" Minghao pulled out a hard back book. Joshua could tell it was an art history book just by looking at it's spine. So beautifully designed.
"Yeah. I'm going to ask professor chwe if he can open up the observatory for tonight." Joshua smiled. He loves going to the observatory. Watching the stars at night, surfing the infinite depth, filled with darkness, an abyss filled with mysteries yet to be solved. Yeah, Joshua was a sucker for mysteries.
"Where's your keychain?" The red haired male furrowed his brows, eyeing his friend's bag. Looking for a certain 'star'.
"What?" Joshua looked at his bag. Fumbling with the chain. Panic was quick to take over when he found both the chains to be empty. The 'star' charm was missing.
"No no no! Where is it!?" He turned his whole bag inside out yet there was no sign of the charm.
Joshua was quick to get up and look for it. Literally everywhere. His lecture halls, the cafeteria, the study room, the lounge, he even cycled all the way to his dorm, yet, the charm was nowhere to be found. Minghao stayed at the university, searching for it as well.
Joshua panted, he ran back to the lounge to see his friend waiting for him with worried eyes. He shook his head and Joshua closed his eyes. Where else could it be?
"Did you check the chemistry lab?"
Joshua's eyes widened. The chemistry lab! That was the last place he saw the charm.
"Oh my god, yes! I'll be right back, Hao!" Joshua ran up the stairs. The building was pretty ghosted, except for a few people who had extra classes or had club meetings.
Please don't be in the lab.
He wasn't thinking about the charm but the very charming Professor Yoon. He hoped that the professor would either be busy in his cabin or the lecture hall.
He stood right in front of the glass door. Taking a deep breath as he opened it. The cold air hit him causing a soft shiver to run down his spine. The sudden temperature difference made him sneeze. Neat and tidy, a given. Although there was no sign of anyone in the lab. The lights were off so he flicked them on as he closed the door behind him. Getting right into work he looked through each corner of the lab. Nothing.
If he doesn't find the charm in here, then he doesn't know where else it could be. He might as well have lost it. The charm was precious to him. His mom gave him that for his 8th birthday, he was pretty intrigued by the idea of stars and his mom bought that for him even when it was expensive, he hadn't even asked for it knowing it wasn't something they could afford. He had held onto it since then, a hope that he will reach his destiny. So it did hold a huge importance in his life.
