"Lewis, Darling! How are you?" A female voice said as Lewis entered the house. I was right behind him, but I thought his mom didn't see me yet.

"I'm fine, mom. It was quite a long day." Lewis said as he took his shoes off. I followed his actions and loosed my laces. My leg was still hurting a bit, so I decided to sit down to make it easier.

"Hey, let me help you." Lewis said as he saw me struggling with my bruised leg.

"Thank you." I said as I blushed. I felt so embarrassed by this...

"Oh! You're not alone." His mother said as she walked towards us. She reached us and laughed as she saw us sitting down on the ground.

"Mom, this is Jude." He mentioned from her to me. "And Jude, this is my mom, Carmen." He smiled at the both of us.

"Hi. It's so nice to meet you!" I said and extended my hand. Carmen bent down and took my hand.
"It's always nice to meet new friends of Lewis. It's nice to meet you too, Jude." Carmen said and I could see she recognised me.

"Mom, Jude just got released from the hospital and will be staying with me for a while. Her parents thought it was a good idea for her to stay out of the palace for a while." Lewis explained to his mom and I smiled at him. It was so nice of him to explain this to her so I shouldn't have to all the time.

"Oh dear. Are you okay? I didn't know you were in the hospital..." Carmen said and I could only give a weak smile.

"Just a fractured leg and bruised ribs. I'll be okay." I said with a reassuring smile.

"Oh Jezus! How did you get that? May I ask?" She added and I could only laugh.

"Another time, mom. We need to unpack first." Lewis said as he took my shoes off. I said a quick thank you to Lewis before getting up with a lot of struggles. Lewis and Carmen both asked if I needed assistance, but I was a stubborn person and just wanted to stand up by myself. After some struggles I was standing and I looked around the house for the first time.

"This place is stunning." I said as I took a few steps forward. I wasn't walking with crutches, the doctor said it only was needed on long walks. So inside was okay to put some pressure on the leg.

"That's exactly what I said when Lewis moved in here." Carmen said and I looked back at her.

"I already like you, Carmen." I said and chuckled. I kept walking till I reached an open room. It was a kitchen with a living room in one. It was quite spatial and the windows covered the whole wall, making it even more spatially.

"I can see myself living here." I said, satisfied.

"Hey guys! I got the bags." Pete's voice reached us from the front. He came into the house and put the bags on the carpet in front of the house.

"So I'll be living here from now on, huh?" Pete said and I chuckled at his stupidity.

"I guess you are, mate. Welcome to my house." Lewis said as he patted Pete on the back. "And this is my mom, Carmen, she's no harm." Lewis clarified. Just to make sure, since Pete still is my bodyguard.

"Thanks for the clarification." Pete said while laughing. "Where do you want the bags? I'll have to go for a few hours soon, I need to pick up a few things from the palace and need to sign the papers of us moving to another place." Pete explained.

"We'll get the bags. You can go, then you'll be back before midnight." I said and Pete left quickly.

"I should also go, it's almost getting dark and I need to make some food for dinner." Carmen said and we both said our goodbyes.
