Zaria

I was annoyed more than anything, the first emotion and thought that crossed me when I woke up was annoyance at the Shadowsinger, I sighed getting out of my warm bed, my personal maid and spy in this world came humming inside the room, "Good morning!" She chirped and stopped humming when she saw the look on my face, "What?" Bless her, she was adorable.

"A dozen things happened last night, I just want to stay in bed today" I groaned, sitting on my vanity with my head in my hands, my reflection was worse than the turmoil in my head, and my eyes stared back at me, bright red and miserable, I spent half the night mourning Gavriel.

 Damn him.

"Do Tell" Eos said taking a porcelain brush from my vanity and starting on my silky locks, I sighed again, and Eos fixed me with a scolding look yet again treating me like her daughter.

I stuck my tongue yet started talking when she gave me an annoyed look, "Well, dear kitty cat is Dead, Dead, Dead" I took a rouge and swayed it left and right as I talked, and she gave me an un-impressed look "Gavriel, six feet under, hanging with the worms" I explained, using anything as a defense mechanism to keep from sobbing again.

"I'm aware of what dead is, Zaria" She sighed and started braiding my hair, another maid came into the room and went straight to the wardrobe, I gave Eos a questioning look as the maid pulled a tunic and pants, "Helion needs you on a morning stroll" She kept her voice impassive, but I caught the hint of worry under it, I didn't push further.

When the other maid left, I continued, "And the spymaster of the night court had the nerve to follow me, Imagine Eos" I barked, "He saw me talking with Gavriel and I was too tired to deal with his shit"

Eos listened mutedly as she painted my face with simple cosmetics, I recited back what happened last night and she nodded here and then, as we finished with my face and braids, she helped me clean my mess from yesterday and dressed me, making sure I'm warm even though it was probably the middle of summer in Day.

Over-bearing mother-hen.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Zaria," She said as I tidied up the last piece of scraps on the floor, she was already at the door, I gave a weak smile and nod, and she returned it with a comforting one and she was out.

I took a deep breath and plastered a fake smile on my face as I made my way to the dining room, as expected the inner circle was sitting there with Helion who was dressed the same way as me, they were talking animatedly, "Good Morning" I chirped and bowed my head lowly to both Rhysand and Feyre, kissing Helion's cheek, I took a seat beside him.

"What of the east, Helion?" asked the high lord, They continued their conversation after they greeted me back, but I ignored them and spread jam on my toast fully intent on devouring the feast in front of me.

"They found bodies there," Well that changed my plan, breakfast slipped down my throat like sand and ash.

"W-.." I interrupted his further statement.
