~7:10 AM~
I woke up to the sun hitting my face. I sat up on my mattress contemplating whether or not to get up, because I was exhausted. Eventually, I decided I had to.
I grabbed a small backpack I had that held all basic necessities like my toothbrush and toothpaste. I went over to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I put my hair in a low ponytail and went downstairs.
I saw some open boxes on the ground and on the counter and when I saw around the corner, I saw my dad making some breakfast for the two of us with some things he unboxed. "Good Morning dad!" I said and continued to hug his shoulder "Good Morning sweetheart!" He gave me a small kiss on the head. I walked to the other side of the counter and jumped up onto it since we didn't have any seating. He handed me a plate and jumped up to sit on the counter as well. We ate peacefully, then there as a knock at the door. "I'll get it!" I said as I was already done eating and my dad grabbed our plates to wash them.
I opened the door to find two eager faces greeting me "Good Morning y/n!" I was quite surprised to see Ward and Rose at the door. "Good Morning to you too!" I said looking at them. "We came by to see if you guys needed any help unpacking?" Rose said is a kind voice. She seemed nice. But it seemed forceful. I heard the sink turn off as my dad walked over. "Oh hey!" He shook their hands and Ward asked my dad if he needed any help.
"No really it's ok you guys did plenty of help yesterday!" said my dad. "We would be glad to help so it's not too hard on you guys!" said Ward "Alright, come on in." My dad said defeated by their insistence."We were also going to ask if you wanted to come with us to the Country Club. We're going later today if you two would like to join us." Rose said with a warm smile. "We would love to join you at the Country Club!" I added on
"Our kids will also be going, they're just sleeping right now." said Ward.Rose helped my dad in the kitchen because she said she loved to organize things and Ward helped me put my bed together in my room since my dad was downstairs with Rose.
"So, how do you like it so far?" said Ward.
"It's like living a dream!" I said giggling at my words. "I think you're going to be a wonderful addition to the Outer Banks!" I passed him the screwdriver and before I knew it my bed was built and all that was left was to put on the sheets and pillowcases. "Thank you so much, Ward! This would've take me ages to do alone!" I said in embarrassment. "It's my pleasure. It's what a friendly neighbor does!" He said through a smile. We walked downstairs after agreeing to start on the living room. We turned the corner to check in on my dad and Rose. She had gone back to her house to get some flowers for decor. But everything seemed about done. "Wow, it looks gorgeous!" I said. "I know. It would have never looked this way if I did it alone!" said my dad while laughing.
We all worked on the living room. We took the plastic off the furniture and put a rug down. We then put coffee table in the middle of the two sofas and the arm chair. I put a cute lamp on the side table by the couch. Rose had brought some plants over too. "I brought these because I feel bad that I have so many that it's getting crowded in our house, so I thought you two could use some decor!" She said smiling. "Thank you, both, really. We very much appreciate it!" said my dad in a thankful tone.
Rose and I grabbed a table out of a box and set it by the entrance with a small plant and a candle on it for decoration. My dad and Ward were putting the T.V up in the living room. Once we finished we had all agreed to come back to this tomorrow for the upstairs of the house. "Alright, we'll pick you two up at around 5:00 pm so we can go to the Country Club and have dinner there, okay?" said Ward "Alright, we'll be ready!" said my dad. "Alright, we'll see you later bye!" They both waved at us and walked back home.
