A week has passed by since the Pogues forgave me. I have been hanging out with them lately and getting to them as well as they got to know me.
The only person who seems to still be iffy about this is JJ. I don't know why because I've proved that I can be trusted and that i'm a good person.

Today the Cameron's invited us over for dinner. My dad and I got ready and then headed over at about 5:30pm. "Oh dad, i've been meaning to ask you. How's work?" I said as we walked to the Cameron residence. "It's pretty good! At least i'm not running around all the time and getting paid minimum wage anymore." he said with a giggle. "Yeah I guess not!" I smiled.

We reached their door and then my dad rang the doorbell. We then heard footsteps and the door opened and revealed one of the Cameron's. Rafe.
Ah yes.
If you do not remember, let me refresh your memory.

*flashback #1*

"So, I was thinking, maybe I could take us all to Chapel hill tomorrow. There's a lot of shops there and I thought maybe y/d/n, and y/n would like to join us!" said Ward then took a sip of his wine. I slightly turned my head to my right and I saw Rafe roll his eyes and let out a scoff.

*flashback #2*

Dear neighbor,

I couldn't help but notice how you treated my friends the other day. I would just like to say I don't appreciate it. If you have any problems with us, let me know.

Sincerely, Your neighbor.

Who the hell wrote this?
It couldn't have been Sarah, she was at her friends house and so was Wheezie. Ward and Rose were away and-

Rafe

Of course it was him. It's like he's had a problem with me and my dad since we got here. I set the note down and lifted the silk cloth off the basket. It was full of strawberries. I didn't know what to think. I was confused. I was shocked. I was slightly annoyed that he found the necessity to write this note.

*end of flashbacks*

I regained my posture and put on a fake smile. "Hey, Neighbor!" I said as I looked into his eyes. His beautiful...blue eyes...anyway. He looked at me then half smiled. "Hi" he said then looked at my father with a welcoming smile. "Oh Hello!" said Rose as she approached from behind Rafe. Rafe moved to the side a little and let Rose come through. She shook our hands and let us in.

We walked over to their living room and sat down. Ward handed me a club soda and offered my dad an alcoholic drink. He accepted and only drank one.

We all chatted for awhile, as dinner was being prepared by Rose. Once she said it was all ready, we headed to the dining room. I sat next to my dad on his left and on my left was Sarah. Rose sat across from Me and Ward across from my dad. Rafe sat across from Sarah and Wheezie was sitting on the end by Rafe and Sarah.

We were having a good conversation when suddenly Rafe's phone rang. His dad looked at him annoyingly but Rafe answered anyway. "Yo what's good?" he said I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at Sarah. She looked back ash me and shrugged. "Nah I can't right now man." he continued. "tomorrow...alright bye" he said before hanging up. Everyone looked away from him except for Ward. He seemed annoyed that Rafe answered his phone at the dinner table and I understood why.

Once we were all done, Wheezie and I helped Rose take the plates back to the kitchen. "Thank you so much y/n, you didn't have to" said Rose. "Oh please, it's the least I could do since you've helped us so much and had us over for dinner." I said with a smile. Then Rafe walked into the kitchen and when he saw me he rolled his eyes. I furrowed my eyebrows and then walked back to the dining room and saw my dad getting up.

Sincerely, Your Neighbor. ~ Rafe CameronWhere stories live. Discover now
