One Time Too Many

We walked into the Country Club and I felt so out of place. Like I didn't belong here. It felt so weird being surrounded by people who look so sophisticated.

Ward got us a table to sit at and it was circular with exactly 7 chairs. I sat down in a chair with my dad to my left and Sarah to my right. Ward was to the left of my dad and Rose was to the left of Ward. Rafe was to the right of Sarah, and Wheezie in the middle of Rose and Rafe.

We sat there for a bit in conversation until the waiter showed up. We ordered our drinks and waited. Sarah and I talked about each other for awhile until the drinks came. Then we all ordered our food.

Once the food arrived we all started to eat. "So, I was thinking, maybe I could take us all to Chapel hill tomorrow. There's a lot of shops there and I thought maybe y/d/n, and y/n would like to join us!" said Ward then took a sip of his wine. I slightly turned my head to my right and I saw Rafe roll his eyes and let out a scoff.

"Oh yes that would lovely! We love for you two to join us!" said Rose. "Yeah, I could help you pick out decorations for your room!" said Sarah with a smirk on her face. "Oh you guys are so kind!" said my dad. "How about 10 AM tomorrow? Sound good?" said Ward. "Sounds great!" said my dad while turning to look at me.

Once we were done eating we left the Country Club. We got back in the car and headed home.
I was exhausted. I just wanted to lay in bed and go to sleep.

~9:00 AM The Next Day~

I got up and did my normal morning routine. After that I went downstairs to see my dad eating cereal and watching the news. I giggled at his interest in the content.

"Oh hey hon! You want me to make you something?"  "No it's fine i'm gonna have some cereal." I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl and put my favorite cereal in it, followed by milk.

I went to the living room and sat next to my dad. A couple minutes pass by when my dad gets a phone call so he excused himself.

A bit later he returns with an annoyed look.
"What was that about?" I said questioning his body language. "It was my boss. He wants me to come in tomorrow for the first day." He sighed as he fell onto the couch.

"What time?" "8:00 AM to 8:00 PM"
"What?! For your first day back?" "Yep" He said sadly
"Well, it's alright. I'll try to unpack everything so you don't have to do anything when you get back." I said reassuringly.

About 10 minutes laters there was a knock at the door. My dad got up to answer it as I put the dishes in the sink.

"y/n! The Cameron's are here!" I heard my dad yell. "Coming!" I grabbed my bag that had some money in it, and my phone. I quickly walked to the door and locked it on my way out.

My dad and I got in the car in the same seats as yesterday. "Hey y/n!" said Sarah "Hi!"

Once we got to Chapel Hill, we got out of the car and started to walk down the street looking for shops. I eventually found some I liked so I went in and Sarah accompanied me while the others kept walking. We said we would catch up soon.

"You should get this it would be super cute!" She said while pointing to a casual dress. "I don't know. I don't have much cash with me right now." "It's fine! I'll get it for you! Go try it on!" "Are you sure?" "Positive!" she gave me an eager smile. I went into the dressing room and tried on the dress.

It fit like a glove. It was perfect. But I felt guilty making Sarah buy it for me. "Uh Sarah?" I called out from the dressing room. "Yeah?" she said questionably. "I don't really think this dress is for me." I said trying to convince her "What? No way! Let me see!"
