I walked back home giving up. I laid in bed and put a pillow against my ears. I actually managed to fall asleep so I was glad.
~7:30 AM~
I woke up to hearing commotion downstairs. I walked down to see my dad running around to the place, grabbing things he needed and put it in his bag for work. "My keys. Shit. Where are my keys."
I guess he hadn't noticed I was downstairs watching him and I silently giggled. The keys were right behind him on the couch but he didn't seem to notice that.
I crossed my arms waiting for him to realize I was down here. I cleared my throat causing him to look in my direction. "Oh, hey hon!" He came over and gave me a quick hug.
"Have you by any chance seen my-" He didn't even have to finish his sentence. I pointed tot he keys and he sighed in relief. He grabbed them and came back over to me.
"I'm so sorry. I'm just in a hurry because I don't want to be late incase of traffic or something!"
"It's fine dad. Don't worry. You should get going then." Yes. Yes I should! Alright, have a good day hon!" He came up to me and kissed me on the head and walked out the door. After he left I decided to start unpacking all my stuff. I started with clothes because I had lots of that. It took me about an hour and a half to finish sorting and hanging everything.
I then went downstairs and had breakfast. After that I washed the dishes and swept the floors. Then I went to my dads office and I decided to clean up a bit since everything was everywhere.
Once I was all done in there, I made my way to my room so I could watch a show on my phone or something while I relaxed for a bit. As soon as I laid down, I heard a knock on the front door. I walked slowly to the door. I looked out to the front porch from my window, but no one was there.
I opened to the door to find a folded note on the ground along with a....
A basket?
I picked both of them up and took them inside.
When I got to the kitchen I set down the basket on the counter and opened up the note.It read:
Dear neighbor,
I couldn't help but notice how you treated my friends the other day. I would just like to say I don't appreciate it. If you have any problems with us, let me know.
Sincerely, Your neighbor.
Who the hell wrote this?
It couldn't have been Sarah, she was at her friends house and so was Wheezie. Ward and Rose were away and-Rafe
Of course it was him. It's like he's had a problem with me and my dad since we got here. I set the note down and lifted the silk cloth off the basket. It was full of strawberries. I didn't know what to think. I was confused. I was shocked. I was slightly annoyed that he found the necessity to write this note.
I put the cloth back over the strawberries and left the note on the counter. I went to my room to watch the show that I was rudely interrupted from. As soon as I laid down, I fell asleep.
An hour and half later I woke up. I grabbed my phone to check the time and it was almost 1 pm, and I was hungry. I decided I would make something to eat.
