CHAPTER ELEVEN
Three knocks and I enter the games room, not at all ready for the awkward conversation ahead.
My stomach churns with nerves as I brush through my locks with my fingers once before cautiously entering the room.
I instantly lock eyes with the boys.
Caleb, Ezra and Flynn are sprawled across the sofa, intently watching Liam play a video game from one of the beanbags on the floor.
The boys scowl at me as I awkwardly linger by the door, my breath slightly uneasy as I pretend not to notice.
"What the fuck do you want?" Liam mutters in annoyance, diverting his cold gaze from me and throwing the controller down in front of him.
I stumble in response, my heart rate quickening. "Um.. I just wanted to apologise." My voice was just above a whisper and barely heard.
I genuinely felt awful over the situation at hand, which I completely understand was my fault.
The day started smoothly, Liam even liked me enough to allow me to be introduced to some of his friends which I thought was an improvement.
Alas, I should've taken Jonathon as a bad sign because once he was in sight, everything turned to shit.
"So apologise then. We haven't got all day." Ezra snaps harshly.
I ignore his cold tone and begin to lightly explain.
"Jayden told me." I sigh, my eyebrows raised with sympathy. "He told me everything."
"I'm really sorry you had to go through that, and i'm even more sorry I made you relive it today. I swear to you, if I had known everything then I would've —" I begin before being interrupted.
"You would've what? You would've actually listened when we gave you a very important instruction? Face it Izzy, you're just selfish. You see something you even remotely like and go straight to it, not giving any fucks who it could hurt in the process." Flynn spits angrily, his jaw clenching harder with each sentence.
I stay quiet, shame filling my mind as I regret nothing more than disappointing my brothers.
"We couldn't care less who you talk to Isabella, we're not here to monitor your life, but it doesn't take a fucking genius to figure out we had previous problems with Tyler. He was the only person we didn't want you to talk to and you did exactly that. It's fucked." Ezra rants, his voice raised and knuckles clenched.
