-My Boy's Strange Addiction-

A day in 2018. She was doing better than ever in her basketball team. Dara and Jungmin had been dating in without her parent's permission for 2 years now. However that didn't mean they were going strong though.

They had been so focused in their own things that they weren't really paying attention to each other. Dara with the team and Jungmin had gone through a severe depression half a year ago after his father's death. Dara was there for him in the beginning, but then she was busier and busier with basketball.

Today was Seonho's birthday party. Dara was getting ready, but she wasn't really excited. Waiting for Jungmin was no longer as exciting as in the beginning. Don't get her wrong, she was concerned about Jungmin for sure, but maybe she wasn't someone to rely one. For some reason she saw him as a burden ever since his depression started to show.

"Honey, Jungmin's here." Mrs. Han entered her room and she just nodded. She grabbed her bag and a sweater. "See you mom." She said and opened to see her boyfriend in the entrance he panicked and shoved whatever he had to his pocket.

"Hi babe." He said with a smile that made him look stupid, but not cute stupid, just stupid. "Don't call me babe." She said and walked past him. He trailed beside her and tried to grab her waste. She just shoved his hand away.

She didn't really know why was she being like this. She had to think about it but not tonight. It was her best friends birthday. "We're here." Jungmin offered her his hand with a smirk. She didn't take it and entered the place.

There was LED lights, balloons everywhere, and confetti on the floor. Music blasting from the speakers, it made her dizzy. She wasn't one for parties, but her best friend deserved it.

Dara was sitting in the corner of the room. Jungmin had left her there, and no one wasn't really talking to her. She was popular for sure, but being introverted made her enclose herself with just her best friends.

Seonho was greeting the guests as they got there, people just kept on getting in, after all she was way different than Dara. Suhyeok in the other hand had found a girlfriend, so he was mostly making out with her as much as he could.

Dara got tired, she decided to go find Jungmin, even if she didn't wanted it, but she wasn't going to be there alone for 2 hours more. "Yes that was sick." She heard Jungmin's voice in the hallway, so she followed it. Then a blow of smoke was suddenly in here face. She turned to her left and there he was.

He had a beer bottle in one hand, and a soju one in the other. A vape in his mouth releasing the smoke through his nose, and the table in front of him had pills scattered in it. As soon as he saw her he dropped everything. "Dara, this is not-"

When he said that the people in front of him turned to her. She felt uncomfortable at the stares. "I... I guess it's okay." She said and walked away. She felt really overwhelmed so she left the party

Why was she just not caring about this. What's wrong with her? "Hey, Dara let me explain." Jungmin said as he had followed her out the party. "Okay." She said pretending to be interested in the reason, but she couldn't care less.

"Last year I got some antidepressants prescribed by my psychiatrist, and I started taking them in a different dose that they were prescribed. Then I started taking sleeping pills for insomnia, and I became an addict. I found those guys and added vaping to my list of addictions." He finished, and he had tears in his eyes.

"I don't care." The girl said, and the guy looked at her with hope. However, when he saw her face he knew she actually didn't care. Subconsciously he knew she didn't want shit with him, but he wasn't ready to accept that. "I'm sorry, I don't feel the same way. I want this to end." Dara looked at him, bored look in her eyes.

She was getting out of there because she didn't felt the same, but seeing her boyfriend was an addict just made her think of all the possible ways she would've gotten in trouble. She couldn't risk it, she had to cut ties with him.

"But you love me." He grabbed her arm as she was about to leave. "No, I do not love you. Let me go." She said trying to free herself, but his grip was too strong for her. "What's going on?" Suhyeok and a bunch of others were now by their side. "I'm leaving, and he won't be following." She looked at Suhyeok in the eyes and he got the message.

Her friend took the guy off of her, and she started walking away, hearing how the poor guy she had just broke up with was screaming at her to get back. She was annoyed by it, and wanted to get out of there so she could be calm.

Upon hearing the news of the break up, Seonho ran to the girl's house to comfort her. The thing is she didn't need comforting for the break up, actually it was about the attention she received, that had caused her social anxiety to bubble up.

"They all looked at me with disapproving stares, as if I had done something wrong." "Actually, a lot of people I talked to after the party, supported your decision." Seonho shared. "Really?" "I would've done the same too." "Thanks Seonho. That's really comforting to hear." She said and laid her head on the other girl's lap.

"Hey, I was thinking we could go to that cafe you like to celebrate my birthday." "You, and who else?" "You, Suhyeok, his girlfriend, and me." "Sure, as long as Jungmin does not come. I can't be related to him anymore. You know in how much trouble I could get if they found out my 'best friend' does drugs? They might think I do them too, and kick me out the team." Dara said.

As Seonho played with her hair, she got extremely sleepy, so she fell asleep, with her. She knew her parents wouldn't mind the girl staying over for the night.
