Two days after the incident, Carina was finally released.

She was fine and the baby was fine too, but to make sure it stayed that way and to avoid any complications, she had to come in for check-ups every two days for a month to make sure the baby was still fine.

For their part, they had not spoken at all of what had happened that day.

Maya tried to open the conversation but Carina always dodged Maya giving her random excuses like she was late for work or she had to leave, all to avoid the conversation.

But tonight she had no excuse and she now felt extremely ashamed of herself as Maya sat up on the bed.

"So, are we going to talk about it?" she said calmly.

"What are you talking about? There's nothing to say. I...will...go...I...need...to use the...bathroom" she said before leaving and locking the door behind herself to stop Maya from entering. She didn't even look at Maya once because she knew that if she did she would start sobbing and she didn't want that.

It makes Maya sad to see her like this but they needed to talk about it.

Not because she was mad at Carina for what she said, but mostly because she was learning not to hide her feelings and wanted Carina to do the same with her.

She went to sit on the other side of the door, she could see that Carina was behind, on the ground her knees going up to her chin.

"You know you can't avoid me forever, you'll have to go out eventually and you know better than me that it's not good for you to sit on the floor like this while you're pregnant"

"I don't want to" she said, her voice crackling, you could hear that she was on the verge of tears.

"Don't cry, it's okay, I'm not mad at you.
You just..., I just wanted to talk to you, help you process your feelings.
I know you didn't mean everything you said, I know you love me and that little girl but I need to know you're okay.
I know this hits you hard and I know you're scared but I promised I'd always be there to support you no matter what, okay?" she said in a tender voice.

Carina started to cry, she loved this soft spot of Maya, she had never felt so loved, so cared about, that was what scared her so much.

She got up and unlocked the door letting Maya in.

She took her in her arms, her head in her neck, she loved the smell of Maya which she could never get enough of.

She started to cry, Maya held her, moving a little around.
She didn't know if she was crying of relief or because she was scared or happy she didn't know but in that moment she felt safe.

"Shhh don't cry it's ok, I love you so much and our little chicken too" she said rubbing Carina's belly.

"I'm sorry for what I said, I'm sorry I avoided you, I'm sorry" she finally said looking into Maya's baby blue eyes for the first time tonight.

"It's okay, we're all fine and I know that was probably the hormonal demon in you talking," she said looking at Carina with evil eyes.

"Ohhh, you're so mean Maya Deluca-Bishop!" she said pretending to pout as she gently slapped Maya's arm.

"Well, you're kinda stuck with me and you'll always be surrounded by too much love" she said laughing harder as she took Carina's hand and carried her to their bed where they had been staying all night, snuggling into each other's arms, feeling good in their embrace like nothing could ever hurt them.

Three months had passed, everyone was fine, Carina's bump was showing very strong, she was now 32 weeks pregnant and she was more energetic than ever.

She was constently walking to burn some of her energy, she was dancing, she never stops, Maya had never seen her like this before and she was amused by it.
