It was the 6th of May wich mean that Carina was due in twenty days.
It was a normal day for Maya and Carina, in the past 10 days Carina had lost all her childish energy, she was lying in bed all day.
Maya had just woken up, she had a 24 hour shift today and wasn't going to be home until 8 am the other day.
She took her shower as always, before heading to Carina's side and placing a soft kiss on her forehead making Carina smile a little in her sleep.
She then placed her hand on Carina's belly before knealing down and kissing the big bump.
"I love you my little chicken, be good for mamma will you ? She's having a rought time and could use some rest before you come into the world" she said before making her way to the door.
"I love you both so much see you tomorrow" she wisphered leaving the room silently.
She arrived to work as always a little early when Andy grabbed her in her office, closing the door behind them.
"What's wrong?"
"I want to know, why won't you tell me ? What's her name ? I know you and Carina decided on a name, you can't lie to me" she said a little too excited for Maya's will.
"You won't know until she's born, unless you want to ruin the surprise" she said crossing her arms.
"Then since i'm the captain i could make you wash the bathroom until you tell me" she said jokingly.
"Then if you do that you will be the last person to see her after she's born" she said making Andy pout a little.
"Alright, you won, I'll wait but, I want to be the first to see her so I can tease Vic about it, please?" She said with the saddest puppy eye, making her nod.
Maya had left to go get in uniform when the alarm goes off before they even had time to do line up.
"Engine 19, ladder 19 fire rescue at seattle zoo"
"It's gonna be a long shift" Andy said as they all run to the engine and leave the station.
Meanwhile at home Carina was bored, very bored.
She tried to convince her friends to come hang out with her but unfortunately they all had to work.
She decided she would bothered her wife a little.
She took her phone and hit the button call, Maya almost responded immediately at the faced time call:
«Hey my love, how is it going at home ?»
« I'm bored...i've got nothing to do and no one can hang out with me.»
« Oh i'm so sorry my love but i can't really do something about that» she said sensing the sadness of her wife throught her voice and facial expression.
Just then Andy popped up in the screen.
« Hi Carina, what's with that face?» she said her eyebrowns frowning on her face.
« I'm freaking bored and stuck here it's horrible!!» she said her voice shouting softly.
« Why don't you come hang out at the station ?» she asked.
« Can I ?» she asked confused.
«Yes of course you can, you're always welcome to come if you want» she said chuckling at Carina's reaction.
« I don't think that a good idea, she needs to rest » Maya said giving Andy a traditional Maya's death glare.
« Come on Maya, it will only be for a few hours and then i'll be back home plus, i can cook my lasagna for everybody » she said with a smirked on her face knowing that now Maya couldn't refuse.
