Chapter 5

Following Me?

Jessica's P.O.V

"Hi, welcome to Henry's Hotdogs. We are having $0.99 shakes today. Would you like to try one??"
"No thanks," I said. "I'll just get a large sprite."
"Is that it?" The lady said.
"Yep!"
"Okay, that will be $1.20."
I dug through my purse and pulled out my wallet. I handed her $2.00 and grabbed my change.
When I walked to the fountain Jake was staring at me. I gave him the "what" look and he just looked away confused.

Grayson came up behind me, "You aren't hungry?"
"No, I had a snack before I came," I lied.
He nodded and I popped on the lid to my soda and went to the table.

"You gonna eat?" Logan said once I sat down.
"Nahh. I had a snack."
"Okay," and no one else brought it up after that. I was very okay with that.

I sat in the middle of Jake and Grayson. I was super excited that Grayson actually wanted to talk to me. I mean, I wasn't anything special. I wasn't skinny, I had frizzy, brown, thick hair, and he doesn't even know me. But he somehow wants to talk to me.

After we ate we went walking around the mall. I talked to everyone and we had a blast. The only thing was we didn't really talk we just chitter chattered. It was more of jokes.

When we all met back at the Paul household everyone sat down on the couch. My phone was at 12% so I went to grab my charger.

Grayson's P.O.V

I saw Jessica walk away and thought to myself that this was my chance to get some
time to talk to her and get to know her.

She walked into her room and grabbed her charger. Gosh, she's so beautiful. I don't even know her and she's having this effect on me.

I finally got the courage to say something, "Hi!"
She jumped and wipped around, "Oh my gosh," she laughed. "You scared me half to death!"
I nervously chuckled, "Sorry." I gave a weak smile.
She smiled back and said, "So why'd you follow me?"
"I didn't follow you!" I said shyly.
"Yah you were!" She shot back.
I nervously laughed, "Well... Maybe... I..."
She cut me off, "You were following me." She then turned and smiled to the ground. She even giggled a little.
I laughed and shyly replied, "I guess I was." I gave another weak smile while scratching the back of my head relieving some of the embarrassing pressure off my back.
"So why did you follow me?"
"Uhm I just came in to talk. I mean I don't know that much about you."
"Oh well what do you wanna know?" She said unsure of what I was asking.
"Mmmm I don't know!?"
She giggled again, "Well, I'll start off with the basics okay?" She sat on the bed and motioned me to sit next to her.
"Okay cool. And whatever questions you say and answer I'll answer okay?"
"Okie dokie!"
