Wei Wei has no way out of this dilemma. Running away and escaping wouldn't seem very heroine-like, but just standing there feels too much like a bandit. So, Wei Wei makes a quick-witted decision: she pulls up her clothes and sits down.

In Dream Voyage in Rivers and Lakes, when characters sit down, they can rest, meditate to build inner power, or do what Wei Wei is doing now — sit to set up a vendor stall to sell items.

When Wei Wei types out the stall name, "Medicine Convenience Store," all the players around her fall silent. Then Wei Wei quickly types a yell:

"Come and see! Freshly made medicine from a max-level healer! Selling cheap at 20% off!"

Once this message appears, all the players who were originally just waiting to watch gossip suddenly become excited.

It sounds like a joke at first. There are no system-run medicine stores that sell potions made by max-level healers, and even monster drops are rare and precious. Even though there are many max-level healers, they usually only provide medicine to their guilds. Very few ever sell their own. Yet now, someone is selling cheap max-level medicine!

The players on Vermillion Bird Bridge get excited and immediately rush forward. In the blink of an eye, they drown the small figure of the heroine in red.

The marriage sedan arrives... and quickly leaves. For some reason, the sedan that was moving so slowly before suddenly speeds up when it reaches Vermillion Bird Bridge. In a flash, it disappears on the other side.

In that frenzy, Wei Wei's medicine is sold out almost instantly. Once there's no more drama to see, the players slowly disperse. The usually quiet Vermillion Bird Bridge, crowded only during weddings, regains its loneliness.

Wei Wei closes her stall and stands up. She is just about to leave when she sees someone calling her from the end of the bridge.

"ReedWeiWei (HumbleReed)."

Wei Wei looks toward the player.

That person is standing under a willow tree on the other end of the bridge. The gentle wind brushes through the branches. The man beneath the tree is wearing a spotless white robe and holding a guqin. His sleeves flutter lightly, making him look free and unrestrained.

Wei Wei's eyes are mesmerized.

Of course, it's not because the man in white is handsome — although he definitely is. Figures like this aren't rare in the game. After seeing many of them, it's hard to be impressed.

No, it's because of his name.

ASmileNaiHe (WhyNotJustSmile).

The server's top master.

To be called a top master in this game, a player doesn't just need high level; they must also have powerful equipment, be strong at PK, have accurate APM, and most importantly... be rich in real life.

So, when ReedWeiWei first sees ASmileNaiHe, she can't help but mentally send out hearts and shower gold coins.

Great Master!
Idol!
Bankroller!

Wei Wei runs down the bridge and types a smiling emoji:
"It's an honor to finally meet you, Brother NaiHe. Were you calling me?"

ASmileNaiHe types: "Mmm."

Then the system message pops up:
ASmileNaiHe has added you as a friend.

Wei Wei quickly accepts, then conveniently adds him back. It's not normally this easy to add him — top masters usually keep their friend lists closed. Sometimes even Wei Wei does the same when she adds too many people.

A moment later, ASmileNaiHe sends a message:

"What did you think of the wedding ceremony?"

Wei Wei feels slightly awkward. Is Great Master here to gossip too?

She replies politely:
"It was very grand."

ASmileNaiHe:
"Do you want an even grander wedding ceremony?"

Wei Wei is stunned.

ASmileNaiHe:
"Marry me."

Wei Wei is extremely thankful she isn't drinking water right now, or her monitor would've been sprayed again. She nervously moves her cup of tea farther away and stares at the screen.

On the screen, ASmileNaiHe's avatar stands calmly under the willow tree, elegant and composed.

Wei Wei stares for a long time before typing:
"Great Master... did your account get hacked? "

Clearly, ASmileNaiHe doesn't appreciate her humor. He sends a rare "silent" emoticon.

"Did you see the newest announcement on the official site about the Couple PK Competition?"

Wei Wei:
"Wait, I'll go check."

Wei Wei opens the official site and immediately sees the bold words: Couple PK Competition. She skims through it and understands the gist. Married couples can join and compete in PK as a duo. The top three will get guaranteed rewards within their server, and the champions will compete against other servers. The prizes are unbelievably generous — enough to make Wei Wei drool.

Wei Wei:
"You're looking for me because of this PK competition?"

ASmileNaiHe: "Mmm."

Wei Wei:
"Why me?"

ASmileNaiHe replies simply:

"You're the only female player in the top ten of the PK rankings."

Wei Wei is moved. NaiHe is strong — number one on the PK leaderboard, number one on the wealth leaderboard, with deity-level weapons and pets. Partnering with him gives at least half the chance of guaranteed victory. But... her first marriage was for a quest. Can she really marry again just for PK?

She hesitates.

But really, if not for quests or PK, why would she marry strangers at all? And that reward is just too tempting...

Wei Wei clenches her teeth.

"Let's get married!"

Once she decides, she doesn't hesitate.

"Let's party up and visit Yue Lao."

"Wait," NaiHe replies.

"What is it?" Did she agree too fast and scare him away?

But no — it's not that.

"I need to prepare. Three days from now. At eight o'clock."

Wei Wei blinks.

"Prepare what?"

"Wedding ceremony."

Wei Wei:
"Just notarization is fine. This is just for a competition. It doesn't need to be grand."

ASmileNaiHe:
"No. How could my wedding be casual?"

Wei Wei: "..."
