Accelerator entered the designated room. Despite the cold weather of December outside, the temperature inside remained warm, thanks to the office's thick glass and heater, ensuring everyone's comfort.
Right in front of him sat a man in a chair, lowering his eyes to the document in his hands. It was none other than the founder and director, Sir Isaac Westcott. Standing behind him was a young, blonde woman, DEM's well-known supervisor and the strongest wizard, Ellen Mira Mathers.
Accelerator took a seat in front of them, looking bored as he waited for the discussion to begin.
Breaking the ice, Westcott greeted him with a warm smile. "How was your recovery?" he asked sincerely.
"It's alright, not the first time. So, can you get to the point already?" Accelerator rudely spat, showing no fear or loss of control as he sat with crossed legs, which seemed to annoy Ellen as she struggled to contain her emotions.
"Very well, Ellen, would you please..." Westcott said, gazing at Ellen, who felt a slight hint of relief and excitement as she held a tablet and started reading.
In one seamless utterance, Ellen read out the tablet, her voice unwavering.
"Charge 1: Insubordinate Conduct Toward a Superior Officer. You stand accused of willfully refusing to obey lawful orders given by a commissioned officer."
"Charge 2: Absence Without Leave (AWOL). The charge alleges your unauthorized absence from designated duty stations, without proper authorization or leave."
"Charge 3: Child Endangerment. It is asserted that you knowingly placed a child under the age of 16 in foreseeable harm or danger, jeopardizing their well-being."
"Charge 4: Failure to Obey Order or Regulation. You face this accusation for willfully attacking enemy installations and engaging in patrols without proper orders or authorization. Additionally, it is alleged that you escaped from custody or arrest after being detained."
"Charge 5: Aiding the Enemy. The weighty accusation suggests that you willfully and temporarily cooperated with the enemy to confront a distinct and formidable adversary."
"Charge 6: Disrupting Military Operations. You stand accused of deliberately causing interruptions to authorized military operations without the requisite authorization."
"Charge 7: Indecent Language or Conduct. The charge alleges that you engaged in actions or language that caused mass hysteria or panic, posing a threat to order and stability."
"Charge 8: Larceny and Wrongful Appropriation. The charge asserts that you committed acts of looting and wrongful appropriation, unlawfully taking possession of property belonging to others."
"Charge 9: Engaging with Enemy Officials. You face this grave accusation for involving yourself in unauthorized interactions with high-ranking enemy officials, contravening protocol and endangering national security."
"Charge 10: Murder. The most severe charge, accusing you of unlawfully ending the lives of high-ranking enemy officials without proper orders or warrants."
"Charge 11: Absence Without Leave (AWOL) During Conflicts. This charge is leveled against you for your unexcused absence during times of armed conflicts, betraying your duty to the organization and your comrades."
As Ellen concluded the litany of charges, the room fell into a heavy silence.
Accelerator listened with disinterest, unfazed by the accusations.
"...So what do you want?" he asked in a cold, uninterested tone, maintaining his passive demeanor.
"I believe we need to discuss the damage DEM has suffered due to the series of commotions you caused," Westcott said, a cold smile crossing his face.
