The office room was filled with people. The people made Accelerator angry.
The office was crowded, and the noise grated on Accelerator's nerves. His irritation bubbled dangerously close to the surface.
He sat in one of the unused office spaces, hunched over a work computer. Accelerator was integrating and refining the code Nia had given him, leveraging DEM's array of AIs and tools to inch closer to finalizing the program he needed for the particle accelerator—his only way home. Normally, this would have been a calming, almost meditative process, but today, it was anything but.
"Would you fucking pieces of shit just shut the fuck up!" A loud yell echoed from the room coming from Accelerator.
If it weren't for the Nibelcol huddling around him like children wanting to borrow his phone to play games. They hovered and crowd around him like a flock of overly curious children, their incessant chatter gnawing at his focus.
One of them leaned over his shoulder and smirked. "What a nerd."
Another tilted her head, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Why are you paying so much attention to your work when you could be paying attention to us?"
"Oni-san, stop working and read manga with us!" a girl piped up, tugging at his sleeve.
Another Nibelcol giggled, eyes dancing with amusement. "You're so cute when you're angry."
A girl sitting on the desk crossed her arms and pouted. "Is math really more interesting than playing with us cute girls?"
Yet another one wrinkled her nose in mock boredom. "Working on some science code on the advancement of society and science? Boooring. Come on, have some fun!"
Accelerator's jaw clenched. He tried to keep his expression neutral, but his face betrayed the simmering rage building beneath.
Is it stupid for him to wish for the Kurumi copies to be around him than the Nibelcol?
Summoning every ounce of self-control, Accelerator redirected his anger into his work. It reminded him of the time he'd painstakingly calculated imaginary vectors—an infuriating but ultimately productive endeavor. Shooting them, tempting as the thought might be, wasn't an option.
But his resolve slowy falters when one of the Nibelcol wrapped her arms around him from behind, nuzzling her soft face against his shoulder.
Accelerator used all of mental fortitude and patience to contain his anger that is the equivalent of the time he tried to calculate for imaginary vectors to not shoot the girls but use the anger in working. While the Nibelcol clung to him like a lovestrick teenager.
Accelerator's face that looked like he was about to start a school shooting and the Nibelcol hugging her looking like a teenager hugging a kitten to its face.
He was almost done. He can almost say this world goodbye and fuck off to his kind of Hell.
Once the codes and other technical stuff. He continued to finalize the rest. He continued with purpose while shoving the playful Nibelcol giving a crushing hug away from him.
"Why wasn't I this pissed and had an attack when facing the bitch in red dress." Accelerator asked himself as he continued to work.
With his progress he can actually go home right now this instance. With Nia's assistance and DEM giving access to various scincetific works that may rival Academy City but he needed to finalize on making sure the whatever method works and he is not followed back.
There are so many risks first is the execution.
Making sure its the rath gate. One wrong mistake and he could end up in a Lovecraftian dimension or worse a dimension where everyone is a kind of person that annoys him.
